Jenna Bush Hager just received a very special birthday gift.
During the November 25 edition of TODAY with Jenna & Friends — which doubled as her 44th birthday celebration — the longtime TODAY star received an unexpected present from her husband of over 20 years, Henry. In one of the episode’s opening moments, Hager’s guest co-host of the day, Andy Cohen, revealed that Henry had an important video message to pass along to her.
Before Hager knew what was happening, a video of Henry played on-screen.
“I just wanted to let you know that as a present to you and your viewers, I will be coming to co-host the holidays with you,” Henry announced in his trademark understated speaking style. “So let’s get ready to do this — can’t wait.”
Hager was touched by her husband’s sweet birthday gift. Cohen, however, had thoughts.

“You can feel the energy coming off of Henry, wow,” he teased. “That was electric! Is he gonna be bringing this energy to the show? You’re not ready for this!”

Hager and the entire crew couldn’t stop laughing over Cohen’s reaction to Henry’s low-energy — but wholly authentic to himself — announcement.
“Was that a hostage video?” Cohen asked, letting the intrusive thoughts win.

Cohen’s good-natured ribbing aside, the news is official: Henry will be joining his wife for the Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve episodes of TODAY with Jenna & Friends on December 25 and 31, respectively. Mark your calendars, you won’t want to miss it.
It won’t be the first time Henry has joined Hager in-studio. He served as her co-host in March 2025. Still, Hager revealed that she was surprised by the news that Henry would be returning for the upcoming holiday episodes.
“We had such a fun time, he was really cute, we asked him to come back, and he said no,” Hager explained.
Why would Hager initially refuse to return to work alongside his wife during TODAY’s fourth hour? It may have something to do with how embarrassed she made Henry when she revealed on national television that they did the “walk of shame” out of the White House back in the day.

Who knows how badly Hager will make Henry blush during his second go-round?

Henry’s not the only star returning to join the holiday festivities. Hager’s former TODAY colleague, Hoda Kotb, is scheduled to co-host the 2025 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade alongside Savannah Guthrie and Al Roker.
The 99th edition of the event begins at 8:30 a.m. in all time zones on NBC and Peacock on Thursday, November 27 — Thanksgiving Day. An encore telecast will air at 2 p.m. ET/PT.
