On a recent episode of Gutfeld!, the panel dove into the latest announcement from former Vice President Kamala Harris: her new book, 107 Days. The book, which Harris describes as a behind-the-scenes look at her time in office, has already sparked controversy, and of course, Greg Gutfeld and his panel had a lot to say about it. Was this a genuine attempt at introspection, or just another political move to stay relevant? Let’s break it down.
The Book That Has No Substance
Greg kicked things off with his classic sarcasm, saying, “She slapped a cover around it like a farmer’s almanac. There’s no book in that book.” The title 107 Days is a mere hint at the short period Harris spent in the spotlight as Vice President. As Greg put it, “What could you possibly say about 107 days? It’s not exactly a lifetime of experience.”
The panel agreed. Emily Compagno, one of the show’s regular guests, quickly chimed in, noting how robotic Harris appeared during her promotional ad for the book. “It was so obviously like she was reading it for the first time,” Emily remarked. The lack of enthusiasm and authenticity was hard to ignore, leaving viewers wondering whether Harris even believed the book was worth promoting.
Is Kamala Really Writing? Or Just Ghostwriting?
The panel didn’t mince words when it came to discussing the possibility of a ghostwriter. “Two words: ghostwriter,” Emily said, adding that the way Harris spoke about the book made it clear that it was likely written by someone else. “We’ve written books before, and you can always tell when someone’s actually talking about something they know,” Emily continued. “Harris? Not so much.”
Greg doubled down, joking, “If they want to make it authentic, they’d have to hire a ghostwriter with a head injury.” The panel laughed, but the point was clear: Harris’ book didn’t come across as something she had poured her heart into. Instead, it felt like a calculated move to keep her name in the public sphere.
Will Kamala Harris Run for Governor?
The real question, though, wasn’t about the book—it was about Harris’ political future. With California in need of leadership and speculation swirling about a potential run for Governor, the panel debated whether Harris would take the plunge. Greg pointed out that Harris had already ruled out a gubernatorial bid for now but raised the possibility that she might run again in the future. “She could go for California Governor or maybe even 2028. The question is, will she do it?” Greg asked.
Brooke, another panelist, noted that Harris had never won a national competitive race and that her political future was uncertain. “The Democratic Party should announce a reset and bring in new candidates,” Brooke suggested, emphasizing the need for fresh faces to lead the party. “Everyone’s tired of the old guard,” she added.
But even with that in mind, the panel seemed to agree that Kamala might not have much of a future in politics. Tyrus, the comedian and former NWA world champion, said, “She’s done. She’ll never run for anything again. She can’t win.”
The Problem With Kamala Harris’ Political Future
So, if Harris’ political career is effectively over, why the book? The panel concluded that the book might be less about sharing her experiences and more about maintaining some level of relevance. “She knows this is probably her highest stock,” said Emily. “If she steps away now, there will always be people saying, ‘No, please, stay!’”
Greg wasn’t buying it. He sarcastically compared Harris’ book to an attempt to salvage her reputation after a failed political career, saying, “At the end of the day, 107 Days is just another way for Harris to hang onto whatever relevance she has left.”
Kamala’s Ego: Will She Listen to Reality?
But there’s one thing the panel couldn’t ignore: Kamala Harris’ ego. “She’s surrounded by yes-men who tell her she’s great,” Greg said. “They’ll encourage her to run for president in 2028. The real question is: will she listen to them, or will she realize that her time has passed?”
Brooke brought up a strong point: Harris has never won a competitive race, and with her unpopularity among many voters, she might not have the support she needs to succeed. “She needs to step back, stop listening to the ego boosters, and let someone new take the reins,” Brooke said.
A Book, Not a Savior
In the end, the Gutfeld! panel wasn’t exactly impressed with Harris’ new project. It was more of a political stunt than a sincere literary effort, and the timing of the book’s release only raised more questions. “Kamala’s trying to keep her face out there, but she’s just throwing out whatever she can to stay relevant,” Greg summed up.
The panel agreed that the book was unlikely to salvage her political career, which has been marred by missteps and a lack of public support. “If Kamala thinks this book will save her, she’s mistaken,” Greg quipped. “But hey, maybe she’ll find a ghostwriter who can make her sound like she knows what she’s talking about.”
For now, 107 Days may be Kamala Harris’ best chance to hold on to some semblance of political relevance. But with every passing day, it becomes clearer that this book is less about history and more about marketing—and for many, that’s exactly the problem.
