Peter Andre has opened up about a fear no child wants to face — the possibility that this Christmas could be his mother’s last.

The singer, 52, revealed in an emotional new interview that his beloved mum, Thea, now 89, has deteriorated significantly as she battles both Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s. Once the family’s unshakeable matriarch, she is now barely able to speak, managing only the occasional word as her conditions progress.

With a heavy heart, Peter said he is preparing for the reality of what lies ahead. After spending Christmas in the UK with his wife Emily, 36, and their five children, the star will fly to Australia — desperate to spend precious time with his parents while he still can.

“Of course I worry this could be Mum’s last Christmas,” he admitted. “She’s very delicate. Her Parkinson’s has progressed quite a bit. Her speech is almost gone now — she’ll say a word or two. It’s heartbreaking, because she’s our world, our pillar of strength.”

The pain is doubled as he watches his father, 92-year-old Savvas, decline too. The couple — who recently celebrated an astonishing 70 years of marriage — now lean on each other more than ever.

“I still struggle to accept in my heart that these things happen to the people I love the most,” Peter said. “I’m a grown man, but this… it’s a raw pain.”

The milestone anniversary brought a bittersweet moment of joy earlier this year, when the pair received a congratulatory letter from the King. Though Thea can barely speak now, Peter said he could feel her pride and gratitude.

In May, Peter shared a deeply moving video from Australia as he said goodbye to his mother before flying home — her frail hands resting on his face, communicating love without needing words.

“Spending time with mum is always the most important part of my trip,” he wrote alongside the clip. “Words are not always needed. I love her so much. I pray she knows that.”

Despite the heartbreak, Peter is determined to make Christmas meaningful. The family will gather with stockings, a festive lunch at the pub, and even Junior’s girlfriend Jasmine joining them — creating memories amid uncertainty.

Peter’s children — Junior, 20, and Princess, 18, from his marriage to Katie Price — will spend the holiday alongside their siblings Theo, eight, Millie, 11, and little Arabella, 20 months.

But as the decorations go up and plans fall into place, the star is under no illusion: this Christmas will be different. It will be treasured. It will be fragile. And for Peter, it may also be a final chance to say goodbye.
