Caitlin Clark has been ruled out of the Indiana Fever’s upcoming game due to injury.

The point guard, who has already missed five games this season with a quad injury, won’t feature against the Los Angeles Sparks this Thursday as she is now dealing with a left groin injury.

Indiana disclosed Clark’s status for the game in a tweet on Thursday morning.

“Status Report for tonight’s game vs. Los Angeles: Caitlin Clark – Out (left groin),” they shared.

Clark has struggled since returning from her earlier injury, although she had a thrilling outing against the New York Liberty in her first game back.

She had her worst performance of the season this past Tuesday, scoring just six points on 3-of-13 shooting against the Seattle Storm while ceding possession several times with eight turnovers.

Clark’s efficiency has also decreased in her first nine games of the season, scoring only one point below her average of 19.2 points per contest from last season. Her shooting from beyond the arc has waned noticeably, plunging from 34.4 percent last season to 29.5 percent, while she is also scoring on fewer of her attempts from the field (53.3 percent to 50.8 percent).

She is also committing 5.9 turnovers per game, slightly higher than her average from her rookie year.

The Fever haven’t revealed the severity of the groin injury or how long she might be out, but they could be erring on the side of caution, given their busy schedule, which includes back-to-back games against the Dallas Wings.

Caitlin’s shooting slump might also be a factor, as the team could be of the mind that some rest could do her some good.
