The Abused Orphan and Unexpected Fortune
In Tosa, a bustling urban city, lived a young girl named Rose. An orphan since birth, she had lost her mother to complications during childbirth. Her father, Felix, remarried when she was four years old to Karine, a woman who, to the outside world, seemed charming, but whose cruelty toward Rose knew no bounds.
Rose adored her little sister, Natasha, and wanted to give her all the love and protection of an older sister. But Karine made sure that Rose could never get near her. “Don’t you ever dare touch my daughter, you don’t even have a mother!” she constantly reminded her. Felix, though kind and attentive, was powerless against his wife’s domineering nature.
Years passed. Rose grew up, beautiful and intelligent, but still oppressed by her stepmother. She did all the housework: cleaning the enormous family home, doing the shopping on foot, often with very little food to last. Meanwhile, Natasha lived in luxury, enjoying refined dishes and sweets Rose couldn’t even imagine.

One day, when Rose returned from the market with insufficient supplies, Karine was waiting for her angrily.
“Rose!” she shouted. “Prepare a feast for twenty people with what you brought back! And if my guests aren’t satisfied, you’ll spend the night outside!”
Exhausted, Rose set to work. With almost nothing, she transformed simple ingredients into dishes fit for a feast. The guests were amazed. Karine, smiling, took all the credit. Rose, behind the door, overheard a conversation between Karine and her sister Victoria:
“That girl is becoming too beautiful. The men are already looking at her at the market,” Victoria whispered. “I know,” Karine replied icily. “That’s why I’m going to increase her chores. The more tired and neglected she is, the less attention she’ll get.”
The next day, Karine forced Rose to clean the gutters of the three-story house. A perilous task. Rose slipped and injured her shoulder. Karine refused to take her to the doctor.
“Clumsy girls get what they deserve,” she said coldly.
Félix, consumed by regret and stress, developed hypertension, which hastened his death. Rose was left alone to face the cruelty of Karine and Natacha. Shortly afterward, Maître Bernard, a trusted notary, appeared with a revelation that changed everything: Félix had set aside a small inheritance for Rose, hidden in a safe, which she would legally inherit when she turned twenty-one.
“That money will go to Natacha!” Karine exclaimed indignantly. “No, madam. The will is clear,” replied the notary.
Furious, Karine hatched a plan: her cousin Marcel, a thirty-five-year-old man with a dubious past, would seduce Rose and marry her before her twenty-first birthday in order to steal her inheritance. Marcel presented himself at the house as a family friend, trying to charm Rose with gifts and compliments. But Rose, suspicious, kept her distance.
One evening, he tried to force her to go out with him:
“A young girl like you needs a man to protect her,” he insisted, cornering her in the kitchen.

Rose managed to escape and took refuge in her room, barricading the door.
Meanwhile, the heir to GP Company, a billionaire, was about to return from studying abroad to choose his wife. John, her meticulous assistant, selected six young women from the city, including Natasha and Rose. Karine did everything she could to transform Natasha into a beauty icon, even hiring an etiquette coach. Rose, on the other hand, was given even more chores, allowed to shower only every other day, and was forced to wear sloppy clothes so as not to attract attention.
To ensure her absence from the penthouse, Karine locked Rose in the attic for three days, giving her only bread and water. Deborah, a woman from the city, witnessed Rose’s suffering. She was actually the sister of Rose’s deceased mother and had always secretly looked after her.
“What you’re doing to Rose is unfair and unacceptable,” Deborah told Karine.
“My daughter’s future is secure; Rose will never measure up,” Karine retorted.
Deborah, relentless, warned Karine that her cruelty would be exposed. She then helped Rose get ready for the penthouse, offering her clothes and a moment of respite. Rose prayed, tears welling in her eyes:
“Lord, protect all those in need, and may my life follow Your path.”
When the day arrived, Natasha shone in her luxurious gowns, while Rose wore a simple outfit given to her by Deborah. Karine tried to stop her, but Rose had the courage to stand up for herself:
“Why should I stay locked up?”
“Because…” Karine slapped her.
“I’m not your mother!” Rose whispered, crying.
Deborah intervened, threatening to reveal everything to the heir and Marcel. Karine gave in. Rose was finally able to go to the penthouse. There, she was placed with Zoé, a sweet young woman who quickly became her friend. The other contestants displayed their personalities: Natacha was arrogant, Fatima exaggerated her humble origins, Céline was flirtatious, and Zian was a liar.
Rose behaved kindly, helping the staff, preparing meals, and ensuring cleanliness. Natacha, jealous, tried to discredit her by hiding jewelry in her room, but Joe, a security guard who knew everything thanks to the cameras, intervened to protect her.

Then came the tense days, exacerbated by a love spell that Natacha had cast on the heir, making him blind to all the other contestants. Rose, focused on her tasks and not seeking competition, remained unaffected by the spell.
“I don’t want to be a burden, Joe.” “This competition is unhealthy,” she confided.
Joe, who was actually the heir in disguise, reassured her:
“You’re exceptional, Rose. If I were rich, I’d marry you immediately.”
“Then let’s do it anyway,” she replied, moved.
Rose asked the billionaire to hire her as an employee, refusing to compete. The billionaire’s father’s plan was to test the young women’s character. The schemes and manipulations were exposed, and the dishonest candidates were expelled.
The climax came during the final ceremony. The heir was revealed to be Joe, the security guard. The crowd was stunned. Natasha fainted, Karine remained speechless, and Rose, incredulous, understood that her kindness and perseverance had been rewarded.
Joe stepped forward tenderly toward Rose:
“My future wife will be you, Rose.” “
Rose then donned a dazzling gown, a gift from the attendants, and became the heir’s wife. Humiliated, Karine and Natasha left town. Marcel was arrested, and Madame Mystique, the witch, mysteriously vanished.
Rose and Joe celebrated a lavish wedding. Deborah revealed her identity as Rose’s aunt, and Rose, now a lady of GP Company, established charities to support orphans and abused girls. She never forgot her roots, raising her children with love and wisdom.
Rose’s story became a symbol of resilience and hope in Tosa, proving that kindness, perseverance, and faith can triumph over evil, and that even in the deepest darkness, fate can work its magic.”
