Jenna Bush Hager Breaks Her Silence on Divorce Rumors After Spotted Without Wedding Ring: Emotional Confession, Family Secrets Revealed, and Why She Says ‘Everything Isn’t What It Seems’—Is Her 15-Year Marriage Really in Trouble?

'He was okay, he's a tolerant person, my mom calls him a saint, which is really just saying that I'm difficult to be with, but I never found it again,' she added

Jenna Bush Hager has candidly addressed rumors that she’s getting a divorce from husband Henry Hager, as she revealed why she hasn’t been wearing her wedding ring in recent days.

Jenna made the admission during a segment on the February 26 episode of Today With Jenna and Friends, which she was co-hosting with comedian Heather McMahan.

The topic came up as they were discussing a recent story that actor Colin Jost had shared about his wife, Scarlett Johansson, losing her engagement ring, prompting her to talk about her own.

‘Well, I had a bad wedding ring situation,’ Jenna began.

‘I’m not wearing one now because I broke my finger, but don’t worry, I’ve seen some of the comments, Henry and I are still very happily married,’ she said.

However, there was another time where she had a wedding ring mishap, and that was at friend Savannah Guthrie‘s 50th birthday party.

Jenna said that she went all out for the party, and was ‘one of the last people standing.’

Her husband had even left the party earlier than her that evening.

‘I woke up the next morning, I look down at my engagement ring, and one of the stones was gone,’ she revealed.

The host joked that she was already on ‘a little bit of thin ice’ with her husband due to her ‘wild behavior,’ and wasn’t sure when or how to tell him what had happened to her ring.

‘I went ahead and just said, “Honey, I know I lost a little bit of dignity last night, I also lost your grandmother’s sapphire,”‘ the Read With Jenna book club founder revealed.

‘He was okay, he’s a tolerant person, my mom calls him a saint, which is really just saying that I’m difficult to be with, but I never found it again,’ she added.

Jenna married her husband in May 2008, which means that they’ve been together for nearly two decades.

The couple also share three kids together – daughters Mila, 11, Poppy Louise, nine, and son Hal, five.

Jenna often talks about her relationship with her husband on Today, and doesn’t hold back.

Earlier this week, during Monday’s episode, she even admitted that she was not very happy with him after he booked a colonoscopy just days before she was due to give birth.

A colonoscopy is a test where a doctor inserts a flexible tube with a camera on the end into the rectum.

The exam is meant to look for colon changes like inflammation and growths called polyps, which are clumps of cells forming along the colon lining.

Jenna spoke about the topic while discussing guest fellow comedian Rosebud Baker’s buzzy new comedy special about motherhood, called The Motherload.

‘My husband got a colonoscopy like two days before,’ Jenna said, before quickly adding: ‘Please don’t put this on the internet!’

Jenna continued, ‘And I was like, “Why are you scheduling this appointment for right… I could be going into labor but here I am picking you up from the clinic.”

Jenna Bush Hager has finally addressed the swirling rumors surrounding her marriage after she was recently seen without her wedding ring, sparking speculation about a possible split from her husband of 15 years, Henry Hager. In a candid and heartfelt conversation on the February 26 episode of Today With Jenna and Friends, the television host opened up about her missing ring, a broken finger, and why public perception doesn’t always reflect the reality behind closed doors.

“Don’t worry,” Jenna reassured viewers, “I’ve seen the comments, but Henry and I are still very happily married.” She explained that her absence of a wedding band in recent appearances was due to an injury. “I broke my finger,” she said matter-of-factly, brushing off the whispers of marital strife with humor and grace.

Still, it wasn’t the first time she found herself with a missing or damaged ring. Jenna went on to recount another mishap at Today co-host Savannah Guthrie’s 50th birthday bash. That evening, which she admitted got a bit wild, ended with her realizing the next morning that one of the stones from her engagement ring had vanished. “I went all out… I was one of the last people standing,” she laughed. Henry had left earlier, and Jenna confessed to being slightly nervous about breaking the news. “I know I lost a little bit of dignity last night, I also lost your grandmother’s sapphire,” she recalled telling him.

Despite these incidents, her anecdotes painted a picture not of a crumbling marriage, but of a long-term relationship filled with humor, patience, and mutual understanding. “He was okay. He’s a tolerant person,” she added. “My mom calls him a saint, which is just another way of saying I’m difficult to live with.”

Jenna and Henry tied the knot in May 2008 and now share three children—daughters Mila and Poppy, and son Hal. Their life together, while often private, is occasionally revealed through Jenna’s stories on Today, where she doesn’t shy away from sharing the highs and the lows.

In another recent segment, Jenna humorously recalled the time Henry scheduled a colonoscopy just days before she was due to give birth. “I was like, ‘Why are you doing this now?’ I could be going into labor, and here I am picking you up from the clinic,” she said, laughing.

Through her stories, one thing is clear—Jenna and Henry’s marriage is like many others: full of love, occasional tension, inside jokes, and unexpected challenges. But at its core is a strong foundation built over nearly two decades.

With this latest public statement, Jenna hopes to put the rumors to rest. Her openness serves as a reminder that while social media and tabloid headlines may stir up drama, real relationships are far more complex—and sometimes, a missing ring is just that: a missing ring.

As Jenna summed it up with sincerity, “Everything isn’t what it seems.”
