Watch Jimmy Fallon’s Fellow Late-Night Hosts Lovingly Mock Him During Trivia About Their Wives (Exclusive)
In PEOPLE’s exclusive sneak peek at the new episode of the ‘Strike Force Five’ podcast, Fallon gets roasted by his co-hosts Jimmy Kimmel, Seth Meyers, John Oliver and Stephen Colbert over the phrasing of his trivia question
Jimmy Fallon’s fellow late-night hosts are helping him master the art of asking trivia questions on this week’s episode of Strike Force Five.
In PEOPLE’s exclusive sneak peek at the podcast’s new episode, Fallon asks his co-hosts Jimmy Kimmel, John Oliver, Seth Meyers and Stephen Colbert a series of trivia questions about their marriages — but the game quickly turns into a round of “roast the host” instead.
“Jimmy Kimmel, I talked to Molly [McNearney], your wife,” Fallon, 48, begins. “So what do you think was her answer? Do you remember when you fell in love?”
“When she fell in love or when I fell in love?” Kimmel, 55, questions.
Fallon admits the game’s set up is “a little confusing,” and clarifies, “I think it’s when you fell in love.”
After he says that, the Last Week Tonight with John Oliver host, 46, takes the opportunity to lightly poke fun at him. “You wrote these questions so badly, Jimmy,” he teases. “You don’t get to say ‘I think.’ It’s your f—ing question!”

Then, Fallon gets in on the fun and jokes, “My lawyer is pointing at me saying: ‘Say, I think.’”
Oliver notes that this is the “exact conversation” he had with his wife, Kate Norley, the other night about Fallon’s trivia questions. Reenacting their discussion, Oliver adds, “‘What does he mean?’ ‘I don’t know, man. Climb inside his head. It’s a happier place.’”
Meyers, 49, chimes in with a laugh: “I do like that each question though, we respond by putting Jimmy [Fallon] on the spot. ‘But what do you mean?’”
“You asked the question!” Oliver emphasizes through his laughter.
“Aren’t you nominated for an Emmy for best game show host?” Kimmel quips to the Tonight Show host, who was nominated for a Primetime Emmy in the Outstanding Game Show category in July for his game show That’s My Jam.
All five of the hosts burst into laughter as Fallon then admits that he’s clearly no substitute for late-night writers amid the ongoing Hollywood strikes.
“I need segment producers and writers so bad,” Fallon sighs. “I miss everybody so bad.”

Strike Force Five, which launched on Spotify and other podcast platforms as a limited series on Aug. 30, follows the five late-night hosts as they “navigate the Hollywood strikes and beyond.”
According to a press release, the idea for the podcast was first conceived when the Writer’s Guild of America (WGA) first went on strike in May. The comedians initially planned to discuss the “serious issues a work stoppage creates,” but ended up becoming a “series of hilarious and compelling conversations.”
All proceeds from Strike Force Five will go to the out-of-work staff from the hosts’ shows, The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel Live, Late Night With Seth Meyers, and Last Week Tonight with John Oliver. It is sponsored by Mint Mobile and Diageo and will consist of 12 episodes.

The WGA has been on strike since May 2, after the Guild and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP) did not come to a new agreement before the existing contract expired. Writers are seeking higher pay, residuals from streaming, staffing minimums and limits on Artificial Intelligence (AI) to name a few key issues.
Actors joined the writers on the picket line on July 14 when SAG-AFTRA, led by President Fran Drescher, also went on strike. They are seeking higher pay, streaming residuals and protection against AI, among other asks.
Strike Force Five‘s newest episode drops Friday at 12 a.m. ET/Thursday 9 p.m. PT. Episodes are available to listen to on Spotify and all other major podcast platforms.
