Reba McEntire’s Boyfriend, Rex Linn, Joins Cast Of Her New Sitcom

Have You Heard? Reba’s Getting A New Show On NBC

The news about Reba McEntire’s new sitcom just got even more exciting, as her boyfriend Rex Linn has officially joined the cast!

To catch you up to speed, NBC announced in January that Reba would be the star of a new sitcom on the channel. Reba also spoke about the show on her Instagram Story, saying she was “very excited” about it.

We’ve learned more details about the show since that initial announcement. For starters, Reba will play a character named Bobbie. Bobbie inherits her late father’s restaurant but is shocked to discover her new business partner is a younger half-sister she never knew about.

On May 8, Reba revealed the show’s name…Happy’s Place. She posted a photo of herself holding the script for the pilot episode and captioned it:

“#ICant think of a better way to end the day…a new single and now a new sitcom. We’ll see you at #HappysPlace on @nbc soon!“

Reba’s former Reba co-star and good friend Melissa Peterman was cast in the show as a character named Gabby. Hocus Pocus 2 and Blue Beetle star Belissa Escobedo was cast as Bobbie’s sister, Isabella.

Fans were hopeful that Reba’s boyfriend of four years, Rex Linn, would also join the cast of the new program. Their wishes came true when Reba recently confirmed that Rex is starring alongside her in the show:

“We have been working on trying to get another show since we were canceled on the Reba show,” Reba told ET during an interview about Happy’s Place. “We got to do Malibu Country for one season. We’ve got the same producers, same showrunner, same writers and now we’re back with Melissa Peterman and Rex Linn, my boyfriend, and wonderful, wonderful cast and crew.”

She added, “We had such a good time doing the pilot — we can’t wait to go back.”

Reba McEntire & Rex Linn Have Acted Together Before

This won’t be Reba and Rex’s first time acting together. In fact, the two met on the set of the 1991 movie The Gambler Returns: The Luck of the Draw. They stayed in touch and remained friends in the decades that followed.

A romance blossomed between them following a dinner with friends in early 2020. They went public with their relationship later that year.

Since then, Reba and Rex acted together in the Lifetime movie The Hammer and the third season of the ABC drama series Big Sky.

The couple dreams of starring together in a Western movie one day. But for now, they’re enjoying being co-stars on Happy’s Place!

Reba did not share any details about Rex’s character, so we’re curious to know what he’ll be like! Maybe he’ll be her character’s love interest?
