What started as a simple fashion tweak quickly turned into a hilarious rodeo showdown on The Voice’s Season 26 live finale, as country legend Reba McEntire took pop crooner Michael Bublé on a wild cowboy crash course — complete with mechanical bull riding and outrageous western wear.

In a funny backstage sketch aired during Part 2 of the finale (available to stream on Peacock), McEntire transformed the suave Canadian into a full-on American cowboy. Bublé’s usual smooth style was swapped for a bolo tie, bandanna, chaps, a giant Texas-sized belt buckle, and a cartoonishly huge cowboy hat. The pièce de résistance? Reba’s custom mechanical bull pit, where Bublé was put to the test.

Despite Canada’s own cowboy culture, Bublé proved hilariously inexperienced in the saddle. His first glimpse of the bull’s glowing red eyes had him exclaiming, “Holy cow!” to which Reba quipped, “It’s a bull… So much to learn!” Before he could call for a legal time-out, Reba gleefully shouted, “Release the beast!” launching Bublé into a series of tumbles from the spinning mechanical bull.

Though Bublé showed signs of getting the hang of it—albeit clumsily—Reba wasn’t done. She then revealed a “better mode of transportation”: a tiny miniature pony. Fortunately, the stunt ended before Bublé dared mount the live animal. (And no animals were harmed during the fun bit.)

 

Back in the studio, host Carson Daly couldn’t resist teasing Bublé. “Somewhere, our buddy Blake Shelton is laughing his butt off right now,” he joked, as fellow coach Gwen Stefani—Shelton’s wife—joined in the good-natured ribbing.

While Bublé’s cowboy adventure might be over for now, the night ended on a high note as Team Bublé’s Sofronio Vasquez was crowned the Season 26 winner, cementing Bublé’s success as a coach.

One thing’s for sure: Blake Shelton definitely needs to see this — because nothing says “cowboy culture” quite like watching Michael Bublé get bucked off a mechanical bull.
