Reba McEntire‘s NBC sitcom Happy’s Place has already had several Reba alums on the show — and JoAnna Garcia Swisher is “definitely” next.
“JoAnna is so busy. She’s producing, she’s got three movies and she’s [working on] Sweet Magnolias. So she is a very busy lady but she said she’d definitely be there,” McEntire, 70, exclusively confirmed to Us Weekly in Nashville, while filming a series of sitcom-inspired ads for Realtor.com’s “Nearly Home” campaign.
McEntire was thrilled at how many of her former costars already found the time to make an appearance, adding, “Melissa Peterman, JoAnna and Steve Howey have been very busy. To get to bring Steve in already for our Christmas episode and to bring Chris [Rich] back in — that was the most special.”
Happy’s Place, which premiered in October 2024 and has already been renewed for season 2, follows Bobbie (McEntire) as she inherits her father’s restaurant and discovers a new business partner in the long-lost half-sister (Belissa Escobedo). Peterman, 53, plays a bartender at the restaurant, while McEntire’s boyfriend, Rex Linn, also appears as tavern cook Emmett.
The sitcom brought McEntire and Peterman back together more than 17 years after their hit series Reba ended its six-year run on The WB. Reba also starred Scarlett Pomers and Mitch Holleman, who have yet to make a cameo on NBC’s sitcom.
“Scarlett as Kyra was just incredibly and comedically gifted. I know we would love to see JoAnna Garcia and I think she just saw Reba recently,” Peterman exclusively told Us in March.“So I hope Reba was like, ‘When you are available?’”

She added, “It would be fun to have any and all Reba participants — whether they’re a cast member or a guest. It would be so much fun, and we would love to have all of them.”
While fans await more casting news, they can see McEntire return to her Reba roots with her Realtor.com’s “Nearly Home” campaign.
“Isn’t that funny that I’m doing this commercial and I was a realtor on Reba? It’s really fitting and I walked into it perfectly,” she told Us. “When [my friend] Dolly [Parton] was there [on an episode of the Reba sitcom with me], that makes it even more special doing this. It brings back memories with [Steve Howey’s character] Van, who was my son-in-law. He was also my partner in our real estate business.”
McEntire was thrilled to get the chance to help make the home buying and selling process more accessible for people looking for their next house.
“What is so neat about Realtor.com is that you can just get on the app. They’ve got over a half a million new listings every month. I didn’t know about Realtor.com when I moved to Nashville,” she explained. “So in the last 10 years, I’ve had to look for a new home. I wished I’d have had it then.”
McEntire continued: “I love my realtor but I wish I’d have had Realtor.com because that way you could look at the listings and really dive into it.”
