Comedians Claire Parker and Ashley Hamilton are recommending Keke Palmer to be the next big talk show host!
On the Nov. 26 episode of their podcast, Celebrity Memoir Book Club, Parker and Hamilton discussed Palmer’s new book, Master of Me, which came out Nov. 19 from Flatiron Books. The book, which follows the author’s 2017 release I Don’t Belong to You, details Palmer’s journey from being a child star to “understanding her genuine value,” per its synopsis.
Parker and Hamilton were inspired by Palmer’s account of her work in the entertainment industry — and they could picture the Emmy winner in a new hosting role too.
“I think you’ve done an incredible job with your business,” Hamilton says during the episode. “But I think I look up to her as a host and performer.”

“When I look at her and I say, ‘What of Keke Palmer do I want to learn from?’ I think she should be Jimmy Fallon,” Hamilton continued. “I’ve said it, like, 10 times since seeing her the other day. I, in my bones, I wanna start a change.org position to change the show to the Keke Palmer Tonight Show. Like, she would be perfect.”
Palmer has experience in that arena, having hosted the Disney+ competition show Foodtastic and the NBC revival of Password. She also hosts the Baby, This is Keke Palmer podcast.
“She’s great,” Parker says. “She can chat with anybody. She’s hilarious. She’s professional. She can sing. She can act. She can do sketches … She’s conversational. She’s hammy. She could do the monologue. She could do anything.”
When Palmer spoke with PEOPLE for a Nov. 11 cover story, she discussed having to balance multiple sides of herself.
‘Master of Me’ by Keke Palmer.
“That’s always been the thing with me: I’m in a mature scenario, having these older experiences in the workplace and with my sense of purpose,” Palmer said, “but then again, I’m just a regular 31-year-old with all of my immaturities.”
“What I got from this book is she really wants you to know [that] the person you see on TV is not who I am. You don’t know me,” Parker says. “And I wanna say, respect. If I happen to run into you through a mutual, maybe we’d get along, maybe not. But I’m not gonna pretend to know you in any way.”
“I have nothing but respect and admiration for the performer you are,” Parker continues. “And at one point in here, she says, ‘I have a gift for bringing people together.’ And I was like, you absolutely do.”
Master of Me is now available, wherever books are sold. New episodes of Celebrity Memoir Book Club drop weekly.
