Jimmy Fallon Introduces Daughter Frances Cole
Jimmy Fallon and wife Nancy welcomed their second child on Wednesday, Dec. 3, a rep for the couple confirms to PEOPLE exclusively.
After taking a three-day break from The Tonight Show, Fallon returned on Monday with a special surprise: the first photos of his newborn baby girl.
“That’s just a cute little baby, right?” he told the audience. “I just want to say it’s just a big deal for us and I just want to thank everyone, the nurses and the doctors and our surrogate, who had our baby. There are angels in Dallas, Texas.”
Posted Dec. 3: It’s been a banner year for Jimmy Fallon.
The Tonight Show host, 40, and wife Nancy welcomed their second child on Wednesday, a rep for the couple confirms to PEOPLE exclusively.
“Frances Cole Fallon officially entered the world at 8:45 a.m. on Dec. 3, weighing 5 lbs., 11 oz. and is 18.5 inches long,” the statement reads.
“Their new addition joins big sister, Winnie Rose, 16 months. The couple opted to keep their baby joy to themselves until their new daughter made her official debut. Both Fallon babies were born via surrogate.”
On Wednesday, the proud new papa sent out a quick Tweet on behalf of his baby girl. “Franny sends her thanks,” he wrote.
And with the arrival of their new addition, the family of four is taking a time out to soak up time together.
“Due to unexpected but delightful circumstances, there will not be new episodes tonight or Thursday evening,” The Tonight Show Tweeted.
The show will also run a repeat on Friday. “Jimmy is spending another day with new baby Frances,” an NBC spokesperson tells PEOPLE.
In July 2013, the couple became parents for the first time, kicking off months of little sleep — but tons of joy.
“This has been the craziest year of my life,” Fallon told PEOPLE in June. “But being a father is the most exciting, amazing thing that ever happened to me. And everything’s going well on the show. My life has never been this cool.”
Speaking of cool: Fallon — who also penned his first baby book this year — graces this week’s cover of Entertainment Weekly as the magazine’s 2014 Entertainer of the Year.
“I’ve gotta beat Emma Stone at lip-synching,” Fallon says of his 2015 goal.
With another young one in the house, we think that might have to wait until 2016!
