Dolly Parton Honored As Guinness World Records Icon For 11 Record-Breaking Titles

Dolly Parton has become a Guinness World Records icon.
Guinness World Records is celebrating its 70th anniversary. As part of the special milestone, the organization has honored country music superstar Dolly Parton with a golden certificate.
The honor officially names her an “icon” for holding multiple record-breaking titles.
In total, Dolly has broken 11 world records throughout her nearly six-decade career.
Just a few of these include: earning the most Grammy nominations as a female country artist and the most studio albums released by a female country artist.
She was also the first country singer to be nominated for the prestigious EGOT (Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony).

“Dolly is undoubtedly one of the most celebrated writers and performers in the history of country music, as reflected in her many Guinness World Records certificates,” says Craig Glenday, Editor-in-Chief of Guinness World Records. “But her reach and influence extends far beyond the musical world.”
He continued, “There are so many projects close to her heart – poverty relief, education, medical research and of course the Imagination Library free-books campaign – and it’s these important, life-changing initiatives that propels Dolly into a different league. She truly is a living legend, and it’s an honor to bestow GWR ICON status upon her.”

Dolly Parton To Receive Honorary Oscar Award
Of course, the “9 to 5” singer already has countless awards to her name. However, her new icon certificate from Guinness World Records isn’t the only honor she’s received lately.
In June, it was announced that the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Science will present its Lifetime Acheivement Awards to a select group of recipients.
Dolly will be among them, receiving the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award.
According to the Academy, those who are given this award have displayed humanitarian efforts that “have brought credit to the industry by promoting human welfare and contributing to rectifying inequities.”
The honorary Oscars will be given out at the Academy’s 16th Governors Awards event at the Ray Dolby Ballroom at Ovation Hollywood, which will be held on November 16.
