Robert Irwin has revealed the daring lengths he has gone to when trying to impress a girl.

The nature conservationist recently sat down for an interview with People Magazine when he was asked if he’d ever demonstrated his fearlessness around animals to woo a date.

The 21-year-old went on to confirm that he had.

‘I’m going all red now,’ he said, as he broke out into laughter.

‘I went on a date once and I was driving her back and on the road, a snake was crossing the road. In my mind I was like, “yes!”.

Steve Irwin’s son revealed that he slammed on the brakes and rescued the non-venomous snake from peril, a move he thought would score him brownie points.

‘In my mind I was like, “Thank you snake. That was really well-timed”.’

Robert recently made headlines after posting a clip of himself training for Dancing With The Stars in the US.

The Aussie star is working hard to get into shape ahead of his upcoming stint on the reality show and, even for the young crocodile hunter, it’s proving to be a tough slog.

In the video, Robert could be seen recovering after a gruelling rehearsal session.

He was hyperventilating as he lay on his back on the floor in a dance studio, trying hard to catch his breath.

His US dance partner Witney Carson was heard off-camera, cheekily remarking: ‘I’ve killed him!’

Fortunately, Robert reassured her that he was fine, responding, ‘No, you haven’t’.

He captioned the clip with some amusing words: ‘Post-rehearsals mood’ and added a laughing emoji.
