Jenna Bush Hager teared up on air during an emotional Today With Jenna & Friends segment.
“Time is going so fast,” Hager said, reflecting on one of the last times her child might go to a concert with her.
Guest cohost Tyra Banks comforted Hager throughout the segment.
Jenna Bush Hager felt the power of song and a soulful connection to her family at a concert in New York City, the Today With Jenna & Friends cohost revealed during an emotional moment on Wednesday’s live show.
The NBC personality, daughter of former President George W. Bush and mother of three, told guest cohost Tyra Banks that she broke down in tears during a Tuesday evening Gracie Abrams concert in Manhattan, which she attended with her husband and children.
“We were out on the town,” the 43-year-old told Banks at the top of the show, adding that, while the concert was “so much fun,” she had to check herself in the moment because she’s “going through something” with her family.

“Obviously, my oldest is going into middle school. For whatever reason, we sat down, and — think about how embarrassing this is as a child — and just seeing how excited they were for her, I started crying,” Bush Hager recalled. “I was like, this is so beautiful, to see this concert through their eyes!”
The broadcaster continued, sharing that the thoughts running through her mind included, “This could be the last time my seventh-grader is cool with sitting next to her mom at a concert. In a few years, she’s going to be going with all of her buddies.”
Banks interjected, “And not mommy,” before noticing that her cohost was “getting teary now” as they discussed the concert.
“I just was thinking, like, time is going so fast, and she’ll sit next to me and hold my hand a little,” Bush Hager said. “[My husband was] like, ‘Don’t cry, she’s humiliated!’”
The supermodel reassured Bush Hager, telling her, “Those are the moments. Experiences are so important, because you’re going to relive that over and over and over.”

Wednesday’s episode was centered on family, as Banks also later welcomed her mother, Carolyn London — who also made regular appearances on America’s Next Top Model — to the program for a discussion.
The cohosts previously discussed their family lives on a prior installment of Today With Jenna & Friends, with Banks revealing earlier this week that she asked her son, York, to sign a contract limiting his video game usage.
Today With Jenna & Friends airs weekdays on NBC.
