Jenna Bush Hager had a hilarious reaction when Today anchor and Jenna & Friends guest co-host Craig Melvin revealed that he’s never tuned in to her show—and his reason why makes sense.

Jenna Bush Hager wasn’t prepared for this confession.

Indeed, the Today with Jenna & Friends anchor was stunned when her guest co-host Craig Melvin admitted that he hasn’t actually watched her show.

“This is a nice set,” Craig, 46, said during the Nov. 3 episode of the daytime series, looking around the studio’s vibrant setup. “You know, I’ve never seen the show.”

Surprised by his words, Jenna—who shares kids Mila, 12, Poppy, 10 and Hal, 6, with husband Henry Hager—turned her attention towards him.

“That is so rude!” the 43-year-old responded. “Did you just hear him say he’s never watched the show?”

Though a shocking revelation, Craig—who replaced former Today co-anchor Hoda Kotb to helm the flagship slot with Savannah Guthrie earlier this year—insisted that he’s not intentionally skipping over her portion of the morning show.

“No, because I’m usually in transit,” he explained, to which Jenna pointed out, “But here’s the thing about it. It’s a full hour.”

Craig, who has been at the morning show since 2018, then took her words into consideration and replied, “I know, I could probably watch some of it.”

And while this latest episode served as Craig’s first time co-hosting her fourth hour slot, Jenna has been an active guest on the Today show’s earlier slots over the years. In fact, she appeared on the series’ first hour on Oct. 31 to show off her Halloween costume: an impressive rendition of Anna Wintour. Meanwhile, Savannah matched her vibe and dressed up as The Devil Wears Prada‘s Miranda Priestley.

“I think we were born to play these roles,” Savannah told E! News of their respective looks, while Jenna confirmed they “wanted to be in unison.”

And while the longtime friends brainstormed their outfits together, the two had to break their Halloween tradition of trick-or-treating with their kids this year. (Savannah shares kids Vale, 11, and Charley, 8, with husband Mike Feldman.)

“We’re sad,” Jenna expressed in their joint interview. “But I will trick-or-treat and have fun with the kids.”
