Bindi Irwin’s Daughter Grace Just Proved She’s Getting Better at This Aspect of Zoo Life in the Sweetest Snap
Isn’t it wild how sometimes it feels like it takes a hundred years to teach your child something (how to sleep through the night, use the potty, tie their shoes), and other times, you suddenly realize that your child is a pro at a certain task — and you can’t even remember when they stopped struggling. That’s how we felt when we saw Bindi Irwin’s latest family photo. The wildlife conservationist poses with her entire family in a new picture that proves her 4-year-old is getting better at one part of zoo life.
Bindi’s mom Terri Irwin shared a family photo on Instagram, featuring herself, Bindi and her husband Chandler Powell, Terri’s son Robert Irwin, and, of course, little Grace. In the clip, the adults crouch down on the grass, with beautiful mountain scenery and cotton candy clouds in the distance beyond them. Everyone is smiling in regular clothes — no classic khaki this time! — but what we noticed most was the absence of Grace’s typical antics.
The toddler looks adorable in a white dress with rainbow embroidery, worn over a colorful striped shirt. Her curly brown hair is down around her shoulders as she holds both of her mom’s hands. Grace is looking up and smiling at the camera like a perfect angel, but it only serves to remind us that her silly, can’t-sit-still side might be officially gone.
It seems like just yesterday Powell had to scoop and run into position to get his daughter to smile and be still for a split second for family photos. Seriously, it’s only been one year since Bindi had to distract her daughter with a big pink flower to hold so she would stay still in a photo. How did this little girl go from that to posing perfectly this fast? She is growing up right before our very eyes!
Last month, Bindi shared that Grace is also good at taking photos. In a picture of her and Powell on Instagram, Bindi revealed, “This is the first photo Grace has ever taken of us. 🥹”
“She asked me if she could take a photo on my phone, looked at it, and said, ‘cuuute’,” Bindi continued. How adorable is that? Bindi added, “Everything about these few minutes in time makes my heart happy. It’s the little moments that really mean the most.”
