George Stephanopoulos’ Wife Ali Wentworth Reveals Why He Is MIA on ‘GMA’

George Stephanopoulos has been MIA on Good Morning America—and his wife, Ali Wentworth, finally revealed why.

On Thursday, June 26, Wentworth, 60 took to Instagram with a snap of herself and Stephanopoulos, 64, enjoying some downtime seemingly on vacation.

“A momentary reprieve,” she captioned the update.

In the featured image, Wentworth wore a black and white patterned outfit while holding a book and lying across Stephanopoulos’ lap. The GMA co-anchor, meanwhile, sported an all-white look while lounging on a couch.

Apparently, Wentworth’s close friend, Law & Order: SVU star Mariska Hargitay, was with them when the photo was taken. She quickly popped into the comments with a direct question via hashtag, writing, “#WhyDidYouCropMeOut.”

Wentworth replied, “@therealmariskahargitay you were in curlers and face cream- I was doing you a favor!”

Meanwhile, someone else shared, “Cutest couple ever, Love the both of you!!❤️❤️.”

Another Instagram user echoed, “So adorable! Love this so relaxed !! Enjoy! ❤️🙏😊.”

A different fan wrote, “Such a boss couple. 🙌❤️.”

Yet another follower joked, “Well enjoy him bc I’ve missed him this week! 😂❤️,” of Stephanopoulos’extended absence from GMA.

Hopefully, the co-anchor is enjoying his rest and relaxation so fans can see him back on their TV screens next week!
