Dylan Dreyer, longtime “Today” show fixture and beloved morning-TV personality, has officially traded the nonstop pulse of New York City for a quieter life in the suburbs—marking a major personal and emotional turning point in the months following her split from husband Brian Fichera. The 44-year-old meteorologist revealed the news while reflecting on her first autumn living outside Manhattan, sharing heartfelt snapshots of her sons enjoying Halloween in their new neighborhood.

The move comes amid a transformative year for Dreyer. In July, she announced that she and Fichera—her husband of 13 years and father to their three boys, Calvin, 9, Oliver, 5, and Rusty, 3—had separated. For months she remained private, offering only brief glimpses into her new chapter. But on Nov. 5, during an appearance on Today With Jenna & Friends, Dreyer finally opened up about the breakup and the emotional shift that followed.

“I appreciate everyone’s comments… thank you for your opinions,” she said, responding to criticism and speculation surrounding her decision to end the marriage. With calm honesty, she expanded on the complexity of their choice: “Everybody has their reasons for what leads to a separation or divorce… You try to fix things. Or you accept that it’s broken and take this new step forward.”

Despite the end of their romantic relationship, Dreyer emphasized that she and Fichera remain close, committed co-parents who continue to share family moments—including time at their beach house on Point Lookout, where they celebrated her birthday together in August.

Her move to Long Island became public earlier this fall when she posted photos of her sons standing outside their new home on the first day of school. The images showed a leafy suburban backdrop—a dramatic contrast to the dense skyline of Battery Park, where the family had lived since 2016.

This Halloween marked a milestone: the boys’ first “real” suburban trick-or-treating experience. Dreyer described their excitement on air: “This was their first suburban Halloween.” She laughed as she recounted how her youngest son, Rusty, took his job as candy distributor very seriously, standing at the door for two straight hours and rationing one piece per visitor—even to high schoolers.

The family’s move coincided with the sale of their longtime Manhattan condo, a 1,491-square-foot two-bedroom they purchased for $2.35 million. After initially listing the unit at $2.49 million, Dreyer and Fichera slashed the price to $1.99 million—eventually accepting an offer that moved the listing into contingent status. Though likely selling at a loss, the shift seems to reflect Dreyer’s desire to prioritize a fresh start over financial return.

The sleek condo—featuring a chef’s kitchen, spa-like baths, and a creatively designed kids’ room with triple bunk beds—was once the backdrop of the family’s entire life. But Dreyer had already hinted last year that the space “no longer fit” their needs.

Now, between school days, new routines, and a quieter life outside the city, Dreyer appears to be embracing change with openness—moving forward with gratitude, resilience, and her boys at the center of it all.
