Jenna Bush Hager‘s Today show program Jenna & Friends was hit with an on-air blunder just seconds into Monday’s episode.

Soon after the cameras started rolling, the presenter, 44, was seen calling out for help after she noticed her guest co-star Brooke Shields‘s chair was significantly lower down.

In hilarious scenes, Shields, 60, appeared much closer to the presenting desk while sitting in her seat.

Bush Hager, in comparison, towered over the model as she sat at her usual height.

Upon noticing the awkward blunder, Bush Hager immediately requested the assistance of her producers and the Today show crew.

‘You guys, something is wrong!’ she pointed out at the top of the show. ‘Something is very wrong!’

Luckily, Shields took the mishap in her stride and joked, ‘I get it, it’s your show! I get it!’

She continued to make light at the situation and giggled that she had been given a seat fit for a kid.

A red-faced Bush Hager confessed that the series had ‘never had a chair issue before’.

Shortly afterwards, a member of crew ran onto the set with a different chair.

‘That moment, when I looked over, I was like, something is not right,’ Bush Hager said before moving away from the gaffe to discuss Shields’s busy filming schedule.

While many viewers were tickled by the on-air mishap, others pleaded for television bosses to invite Shields to become a permanent co-host.

Taking to the comment section on the show’s official Instagram page, one said: ‘Brooke would be the BEST co- host!’

‘You and Brooke make a fabulous duo,’ observed another.

‘Please employer, hire Brooke for co-host,’ a third begged.

A fourth exclaimed: ‘Brooke is the best! She’s funny, smart, and beautiful. Keep her on the show please!’

Over the last 11 months, Bush Hager has helmed Jenna & Friends with numerous guest co-presenters, including Scarlett Johansson, Eva Longoria, and even her husband Henry Hager.

It comes after Hoda Kotb left the program – and her role as Today show co-host – in January.

Last February, a Today show insider told the Daily Mail that bosses were not in a rush to land on a new presenter to replace Kotb.

‘There has been no permanent cohost decision for today with Jenna & Friends,’ they said at the time.

‘There is no reason to make a decision now. There’s been a lot of people vying for the opportunity to guest co-host.’
