Patrick Mahomes is inspired by his wife’s own competitive drive as he heads into his fifth Super Bowl game.

The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback praised Brittany Mahomes‘ winning mindset, fiery spirit and regular pep talks to him days before his team faces off against the Philadelphia Eagles in the 2025 Super Bowl in New Orleans.

“She’s more competitive than I am,” Patrick told reporters at a press conference Feb. 6 about his wife, who often cheers him on at games. “So when I’m calm and I’m trying to figure out what I’m trying to do and trying to make sure my mind’s right, she just always gets me like, ‘Let’s go out there and get it.’”

The 29-year-old continued, “She always is telling me, like, she’s ready to compete just as much as I am. I think having that fire, it bleeds through our entire family and it makes us, as a family, so close-knit because Brittany’s going out there and being the one that’s willing to lay it on the line every single day.”

Brittany, who shares children Sterling Skye Mahomes, 4, Patrick “Bronze” Lavon Mahomes III, 2, and infant Golden Raye Mahomes with Patrick, is “the competitor in the family,” the NFL star said, adding, “People think I am but she is, for sure.”

Days earlier, the athlete had made similar comments about his wife, who is a certified personal trainer and retired athlete, having played soccer for the University of Texas at Tyler women’s soccer team and also in Iceland with professional team UMF Afturelding.

“I mean, the way that she pushes me every single day to be the best that I possibly can be,” he expressed during a Feb. 4 press conference, “and she’ll continue to do that.”

He continued, “She knows that she’s going to be at home taking care of the kids and help me out, that I better be going out there winning on the football field.”

Brittany Mahomes reveals daughter Sterling’s ordeal at ‘the happiest place in the world’ because of Cinderella

Patrick and Brittany Mahomes’ daughter didn’t hold back during a Magic Kingdom visit

Even fairy tales can take a funny turn, just ask Sterling Mahomes, the four-year-old daughter of Patrick Mahomes and Brittany Mahomes.

What was supposed to be a dream day at Walt Disney World turned into a viral parenting moment when the little one met Cinderella and, judging by the look on her face, was anything but impressed.

The Mahomes family made the trip to Orlando recently, taking in the sights of Toy Story Land, Kilimanjaro Safaris, and other Disney favorites.

Joining Sterling on the adventure were her younger brother Bronze, 2, and a couple of friends dressed adorably in matching pink outfits. After a fun-filled day, the group made their way to Cinderella Castle for a special meet-and-greet.

Sterling’s side-eye moment becomes internet gold

During what should have been a magical interaction with Cinderella, Brittany‘s friend Miranda snapped a photo that quickly stole the show on social media.

In the shot, reposted by Brittany on Instagram Stories, Sterling and her pals looked far from enchanted.

The caption read, “hmm… we weren’t too sure about Cinderella”, accompanied by a laughing emoji and blue heart.

Sterling‘s expression-a mixture of skepticism and “not having it”-perfectly summed up what parents everywhere know: toddlers keep it real.

The hilarious image of the unimpressed girls has since circulated widely, offering a humorous peek into the often unpredictable reactions of kids in high-stakes princess encounters.

Luckily, the mood picked up shortly afterward. Another picture showed the group looking much happier while meeting Rapunzel, with Sterling even stepping up as a helpful big sister, assisting one of the younger kids.

While Brittany and the girls enjoyed their magical moment, Patrick Mahomes appeared to be spending time elsewhere-likely with Bronze-opting out of the princess festivities.

The Mahomes family has had a busy offseason following the Kansas City Chiefs‘ defeat in Super Bowl LIX to the Philadelphia Eagles.

Brittany, a co-owner of the Kansas City Current in the NWSL, has made the most of it with plenty of family time and a few solo trips.

It’s safe to say the Mahomes household may still be recovering from the Super Bowl disappointment-but one thing’s certain: if you bring it up, be prepared for a Sterling-grade stare.
