Fans of Good Morning America have been buzzing with questions over Robin Roberts’ recent absence from a beloved daily segment. Though she briefly acknowledged her time away with a thank-you to viewers for their support, it was her co-host Michael Strahan who stirred even more speculation by hinting that Robin could be preparing for something major behind the scenes. A new TV venture? A leadership role? Or something entirely out of left field? The rumor mill is in full swing, and everyone is wondering what surprise Robin has up her sleeve.

Could we be witnessing the calm before a game-changing storm?

Robin Roberts is well-known for sharing her signature “Glam Fam” videos on Instagram each morning — short, uplifting clips featuring positive messages and heartfelt prayers that she records from her dressing room before the show goes live. With nearly one million followers eagerly awaiting these daily doses of encouragement, her sudden silence didn’t go unnoticed.

On June 26, 2025, Robin addressed her followers with a hopeful message, saying she aimed to return soon. She shared, “Hope to be back with Glam Fam on Monday with the morning message. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we adjust to our new studio. Still want to know what you’re most grateful for on this #ThankfulThursday.”

This absence coincides with a major shift for Good Morning America itself. After 26 iconic years broadcasting from Times Square, the show officially relocated to a brand-new, state-of-the-art studio in Hudson Square. The final show in the old studio aired on June 13, 2025, marking the end of an era.

In an earlier broadcast on June 9, Robin became emotional as she reflected on the studio move. “I just remember thinking, ‘I’m a little girl from Mississippi and I’m working in Times Square.’ It’s just so majestic,” she recalled.

Her co-anchor Michael Strahan shared his own memories: “The bright lights, the personality, the energy—how intimidated I was walking through the door. It was a lot to take in.” Meteorologist Ginger Zee echoed the sentiment: “My first time in Times Square, coming to this studio, was magical. I just remember thinking, ‘This can’t be real.’”

Though Robin was absent from Instagram on June 26, the reason seems tied directly to the show’s massive move. On their first day in the new studio, all the GMA hosts participated in a ceremonial moment — pressing their hands into cement to mark the beginning of a new chapter. Robin celebrated the milestone live on-air, saying: “That was really fun. Let’s hand it to our producers.”

The move wasn’t exclusive to Good Morning America. Several major shows under the ABC, Disney, and ESPN umbrella also relocated to Hudson Square, including 20/20, The View, LIVE with Kelly and Mark, Tamron Hall, and ABC News Live.

Why the change? According to a 2023 statement from ABC to Deadline, the goal was to embrace the future. The new 22-story, 1.2 million square foot building is designed to foster innovation and collaboration with top-tier technology and upgraded facilities.

While Robin’s recent absence may be easily explained by this transitional period, Michael Strahan’s subtle tease about her working on “something huge” has fans hooked. Is it a new network role? A side project in development? Or the beginning of an unexpected career twist?

Whatever it is, one thing is clear — Robin Roberts is far from done. And whatever she’s planning may be bigger than anyone imagined.

Stay tuned — the full story could break any moment.
