Rymir Satterthwaite is a 30-year-old who says he is Jay-Z’s son and has recently accused the rapper of abusing the legal system to avoid a paternity test. All about the aspiring musician.

Rymir Satterthwaite is sure he is part of Jay-Z’s bloodline.

However, in a recent filing obtained by E! News, the rapper (real name Shawn Carter) says that Rymir, as well as his godmother and caretaker Lillie Coley, have been “harassing” him with the claim.

In the documents, filed June 16, Jay-Z—who shares kids Blue Ivy, 13, and twins Rumi and Sir, 8, with wife Beyoncé—alleged that a lawsuit filed recently by the 30-year-old and Lillie is “just the latest” in what he calls “decades of harassment.”

“The fabricated allegations and claims have been addressed—and rejected—in multiple other courts,” the documents read, “and Plaintiff’s continued harassment of Defendant and disregard of those orders has already resulted in a contempt order.”

Jay-Z also requested additional time to formally respond to Rymir’s lawsuit, which was filed on May 3, claiming that it was “not properly served” and that he didn’t know of its existence until early last month. Indeed, the “Empire State of Mind” rapper’s legal team requested four additional weeks to  “evaluate the Complaint and determine how to respond or otherwise plead.”

Elsewhere in the 55-year-old’s filing, he alleged that his team attempted to call Lillie herself for additional time to respond to the suit, but she hung up on them.

Meanwhile, Rymir’s lawsuit claims—as he has for many years—that Jay-Z is his biological father.

“What began in the mid-1990s as Defendant’s music career soared to prominence,” Rymir’s lawsuit, previously obtained by E! News, reads, “quickly evolved into a scorched-earth effort to bury a personal truth: that he fathered a child with a 16-year-old girl [Wanda Satterthwaite] who is now deceased.”

Rymir’s suit also alleges that Jay-Z, “has neither affirmatively acknowledged nor legally denied his parental relationship with Rymir.”

The man claiming to be Jay-Z’s son is not requesting reparational child support in his lawsuit, but instead general and compensatory damages related to emotional distress, reputational harm and loss of financial support, as well as “reasonable” assistance with legal expenses and costs.

Who is Rymir Satterthwaite’s mother?

Rymir Satterthwaite’s mother is Wanda Satterthwaite, though, per the lawsuit, he was primarily under the care of Lillie, especially after 2011, when Wanda became ill. Although she died in 2016, Wanda had shared a video with Radar Online that same year, expressing her belief that Jay-Z was the father of her son.

“My name is Wanda Satterthwaite and I am the mother of Rymir Satterthwaite,” she said in the video, per Radar Online. “Today is April 20, 2016 and I want the world to know that I support my son in his paternity suit with Shawn Corey Carter. I stand by my allegations regarding this man.”

In Rymir’s recent lawsuit, the plaintiff claims that Wanda spent “two decades” pursuing legal recognition of Jay-Z’s paternity, until it “ended in tragedy at her untimely death exhausted and disillusioned by years of denial and obstruction.”

What does Rymir Satterthwaite do for a living?

Rymir—who is from Pennsylvania but now lives in New Jersey—appears to be following in Jay-Z’s footsteps by pursuing a rap career. On his Instagram, Rymir has shared clips of himself singing songs he has penned like “Way She Move,” and “Stacks.”

What has Rymir Satterthwaite said about Jay-Z?

In addition to his latest lawsuit against the rapper, Rymir has shared reports about his fight for Jay-Z to recognize him as his legitimate son on his social media account.

“This is not going to be over until justice is served,” Rymir, who has been fighting for Jay-Z to recognize him since he was 21, told the Daily Mail in 2023. “I just want to live my life and, when it is all said and done, I hope that Jay-Z would want to be a part of my life, if that is God’s will.”

What has Jay-Z said about Rymir Satterthwaite?

While Jay-Z has not personally spoken out about Rymir’s claims, his legal team has denied his paternity of the 30-year-old on his behalf.

“The allegations have been previously reviewed thoroughly by the courts and have been refuted,” his lawyers told Daily Mail in 2023. “I am sure that will be the outcome of whatever filings Mr. Satterthwaite is may be currently considering.”
