The comedian also bashed the ABC program by saying it’s “as interesting as a Hunter Biden painting made of his own feces.”

Comedian and actor Rob Schneider says he’s launching a new women’s talk show. His proposed recipe for success? Distancing the program from one of the most watched shows on daytime television.

In a recent appearance on Fox News @ Night, Schneider said his new show will offer an alternative to The View, the popular ABC talker hosted by Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sara Haines, Sunny Hostin, Ana Navarro, and Alyssa Farah Griffin.

“No Apologies Media, my new company, we’re going to do an all-ladies talk show that won’t be like The View,” the Hot Chick star explained. “It will be the opposite because this will be entertaining. It’ll be funny.”

Asked if the show would intentionally go toe-to-toe with The View, Schneider said, “We’re going to compete with them, yeah. I don’t know if it’s the same time slot. We’re not going to announce who’s doing so yet, but that’s what’s happening now. And it’s official. So now we’re moving ahead.”

A representative for The View didn’t immediately respond to Entertainment Weekly‘s request for comment Wednesday.

Schneider, who in recent years has emerged as an outspoken conservative voice, said the show will begin filming episodes next month, as the plan is to “start shooting shows before the inauguration.”

He remained tight-lipped about who might host the program, though he said his team has “a lot of women we like” in consideration. “It’s household names, and you’re going to love it,” he claimed. “It’s going to be a funny show, not going to be drowning people in politics. It’s not going to be shaming people and making people wince.”

Later in the interview, Schneider fired more shots at The View. “It’s as interesting as a Hunter Biden painting made of his own feces,” he said after Fox News @ Night played a clip from a recent episode. “They’re just sniping and trying to make people feel terrible. And people are sick of it. People don’t want to have the politics. We’re going to have an entertaining show for entertaining people all over America. We’re not trying to just bring people who are angry and bitter and reinforcing their political echo chamber. That’s what you and I do here!”

Schneider reiterated that his show won’t be politically oriented, and teased potential titles. “We have an opportunity in America to move away from the politics,” he said. “I don’t know what we’re going to call it: Lip Service or The Other View.”

Despite Schneider’s suggestion that viewers are fed up with The View‘s political leanings, the show has enjoyed enduring popularity over its 28-season run. The program has ranked highest in total viewership among all daytime broadcast talk shows and news programs for five straight seasons, and recently saw a massive bump in viewership following Donald Trump’s reelection.
