Jimmy Kimmel Says His Friendship With Ex Sarah Silverman 'Took Some Time' |  Entertainment Tonight

They dated for six years following the end of his first marriage.

And Jimmy Kimmel revealed in a TV interview Monday night that he and Sarah Silverman had to work to maintain a friendship following the end of their relationship in 2009.

‘I would say that it took some time, definitely,’ Kimmel, 51, explained on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen. ‘It was never like where we didn’t like each other, hated each other or anything like that. But it definitely took some time to be comfortable enough to be friends again.’

The two comedians started dating in 2002, broke up in 2008, briefly got back together and then decisively called it quits in 2009.

In October, 2009, Kimmel started a romance with Molly McNearney, one of the head writers for his ABC late night show Kimmy Kimmel Live!

They married in July 2013 and have two children.

The late night host also has two children with first wife Gina Maddy whom he wed in 1988 and divorced in 2002.

Silverman, 48, went on to date actor Michael Sheen from 2014 to early 2018.

Top of his ‘not invited’ list was Donald Trump, he said during the segment Pass the Mic.

Others included Trump’s son Eric and Sean Hannity of Fox News.
