Discover what happened to the stars of Storage Wars! From Barry Weiss’s near-fatal accident to Brandy and Jared’s split, here’s where your favorite cast members are today.

Storage Wars: The Rise, Fall, and Comebacks of Its Most Iconic Stars
When it comes to reality TV, few could have predicted that a show about abandoned storage units would become a global sensation. Yet, Storage Wars, which premiered on A&E in 2010, did exactly that. With high-stakes bidding, the mystery of hidden treasures, and a cast full of eccentric personalities, the show quickly captured millions of viewers.
But after more than a decade, fans often wonder: Where are the stars of Storage Wars now? Let’s take a look at some of the most memorable faces from the show and what they’re doing today.
Barry Weiss – The Collector with a Cult Following
Barry Weiss is easily one of the most beloved figures from Storage Wars. With his quirky personality, bold fashion sense, and unpredictable bidding style, Barry stood out from the crowd. He even landed two spin-off shows: Barry Strikes Back and Barry’d Treasure.
Born in 1959 to a Jewish family in New York, Barry’s life before fame was just as interesting—he graduated from Cornell, earned an MBA from NYU, and built a successful business career.
In 2019, tragedy struck when Barry was involved in a severe motorcycle accident, requiring multiple surgeries and a long recovery. Since then, he’s chosen a quieter life, occasionally appearing in commercials, including for Sherwood Valley Casino.
Daryl Sheets – The Gambler Who Beat the Odds

If Barry was the stylish enigma, Daryl Sheets was the bold risk-taker. Known as The Gambler, Daryl was never afraid to go all-in during auctions. His biggest win? Scoring a collection of Frank Gutierrez paintings worth around $300,000 for just $3,600.
However, life threw Daryl some tough challenges. In 2019, he was hospitalized with congestive heart failure and had to wear a defibrillator vest. Thankfully, he recovered and now runs his own business, Show Me Your Junk, in Arizona.
Brandy Pasante & Jared Schultz – From Power Couple to Splitsville
Brandy and Jared were fan favorites for their humor and dynamic bidding style. They even ran two thrift stores in California, but both eventually closed due to financial struggles.
Despite often being referred to as “husband and wife” on the show, Brandy and Jared were never legally married. The pair split before Season 13, with Jared now dating Rochelle Beckman, while Brandy focuses on raising their two kids. She also faced personal challenges, including harassment from obsessive fans, forcing her to move into a gated community for safety.
Brandon Sheets – From Reality Star to UPS Driver
The son of Daryl Sheets, Brandon—nicknamed “Side Bet”—once seemed destined for a long TV career. But in 2017, he was cut from the show due to cost-cutting. Brandon later worked as a UPS driver, but things took a scary turn when he was involved in a truck accident while asleep inside. Fortunately, his injuries were minor, but he publicly criticized UPS for safety lapses.
Renee & Casey Nezhoda – The Quiet Power Couple
Joining Storage Wars in Season 4, Renee and Casey impressed fans with their sharp business instincts and negotiation skills. They once operated the Bargain Hunters Thrift Store in San Diego, which closed in 2021. Today, they’ve shifted to online sales and run a thriving YouTube channel with over 190,000 subscribers.

Dave Hester – The Show’s Ultimate Villain
No one could forget Dave Hester, the man behind the infamous “Yuuup!” battle cry. Known for stirring drama, Dave was at the center of the show’s biggest controversies. He was fired from A&E after accusing the network of staging the show, leading to a major lawsuit in 2012. Although he eventually returned, Dave continued to face legal troubles, including a 2020 lawsuit over a disputed shipment of goods.
Other Notable Stars: Ivy Calvin, Mary Padian & Auctioneers Dan and Laura
Ivy Calvin, a former MMA fighter and football player, remains active on the show and runs Grandma’s Attic.
Mary Padian, the “Queen of DIY,” continues to run her business, Mary’s Finds, and occasionally appears on Storage Wars.
Dan and Laura Dodson, the auctioneering duo, have been through major challenges, including Dan’s near-fatal brain aneurysm in 2014, but they still run American Auctioneers and are active in the auction world.
The Tragedy of Mark Balelo
One of the saddest chapters in Storage Wars history is the death of Mark Balelo, a flamboyant entrepreneur known as “Rico Suave.” In 2013, just days after being arrested for drug possession, Mark was found dead in his car from carbon monoxide poisoning. The news shocked fans and left a lasting mark on the show’s legacy.
Storage Wars: Still Going Strong After 15 Years
Despite allegations of staging, Storage Wars remains a fan favorite thanks to its drama, unpredictability, and the thrill of the hunt. Over a decade later, the show is still going strong, with Season 16 set to premiere in June 2025, proving that the fascination with forgotten treasures is far from over.
