Fans noticed a connection between David Muir and Kelly Ripa thanks to Instagram. Ripa took the time to wish Muir a happy birthday.

She captioned, “Happy birthday to @davidmuirabc, the man of the world as well as the world news!” Muir wrote in response, “How lucky am I to have you all in my life— love that consuelos family.”

The connection between the two didn’t end there. Ripa also mentioned Muir in her book, Live Wire. She called Muir the “backbone and moral compass I need sometimes.”

The two spent lots of time together at Kelly’s home at the Hamptoms. Ripa added, “I kind of miss our weekends together. You are a great grill master, your cheeseburgers are delicious,” Kelly gushed. “Joaquin would rather eat at David’s than anywhere else on earth.”

Muir did have one objection looking back at his experiences with Mark and Kelly, and that was his inability to keep up with them on trips.

“I think it’s good that it’s aches and pains week because honestly, it sounds funner than it is, but when you go on vacation with these two – the two fittest people on the planet – you then go into recovery for about three of four weeks, so I’m just starting to feel better again,” he said during their Live interview.

Muir has opened up about his career and how he became an anchor on ABC World News Tonight.

The fascination began from a young age.

He tells USA Today, “As a kid, I had always dreamed of seeing the world beyond my backyard and my neighborhood. That is what drew me to watch the news every night. You know, I was the one who was outside playing with everyone else but who would disappear when it came time for the news. I would watch the local news, and I would watch Peter Jennings, and I began an internship at the local TV station at 14.”

For Muir, it was all about stepping out and seeing the world. He admits his schedule is never quite set, but there is nothing else he’d rather be doing.
