Former Bachelor Nation host Chris Harrison moderated the franchise for 19 years before leaving in 2021.

First stepping down in February 2021 after catching backlash for defending a former contestant’s racist remarks, Chris officially departed in June 2021. After Chris parted ways with Bachelor Nation, Jesse Palmer took his place as the permanent franchise host during Season 26 of The Bachelor in January 2022. Jesse is now the host of The Bachelor, The Bachelorette, Bachelor in Paradise, The Golden Bachelor, and The Golden Bachelorette.

Although Chris isn’t back with Bachelor Nation, in March 2024, it was announced that the TV personality would be returning to television with two shows on Dr. Phil’s new network, Merit Street Media.

Along with cohosting a morning show with his wife, Lauren Zima, he was also picked to emcee another reality dating series, Swoon reported.

“It has dating elements in it, but this is so different and so novel,” he explained to the Entertainment Tonight. “It is flipping the script in a way that I think people are gonna become addicted to it in a week. It is unbelievable.”

Last year, George took to social media to celebrate Merit Street Media’s launch, writing on the platform, “What a dream team! @meritstreetmedia is officially on the air. @laurenzima and I feel so blessed to be producing and hosting tv at Merit.”

However, neither of the shows has aired yet this year, and no more information has been provided about them.

While his shows are still in the works, the ex-ABC star dropped a podcast called The Most Dramatic Podcast Ever, but a new episode hasn’t been released since November 2024.

It seems that Chris might be focusing on his role as a husband at this time since he is still somewhat of a newlywed. In November 2023, he and entertainment reporter Lauren Zima tied the knot.

Lauren is Chris’ second wife. He was previously married to his high school sweetheart, Gwen Harrison, for 18 years before they called it quits in 2012.

Chris and his ex-wife Gen share two sons, Joshua and Tyler. In May 2024, George celebrated Josh’s graduation from Texas Christian University.
