Ariana Madix Is Ready to “Completely throw out the Playbook” for ‘Love Island’ Season 7 for a Good Reason

Ariana Madix is throwing away last season’s ‘playbook’ as she enters the seventh season of Peacock’s ‘Love Island USA’.

Long gone are the days when Ariana Madix was known only for her involvement in Vanderpump Rules. After successfully appearing in the Bravo series from 2013 to 2024, Madix ventured into Love Island USA as a permanent host in 2024.

After her rookie season as the full-time host for Love Island reached astronomical success, Madix is coming back with Love Island 7, premiering on June 3.

While others might feel the pressure to replicate the success of her past season, Madix shared that she is not bothered at all. In fact, instead of getting cowed down by the past success, the Single AF Cocktails author is rather throwing out the past “playbook” completely. But why?

Following an immensely successful sixth season, Love Island USA has returned for its seventh season with Ariana Madix at its helm. However, prior to the show’s premiere, the Florida native shared that she is not feeling the pressure of her last season’s success to hinder her latest venture.

During an interview with Today, when Madix was asked whether she feels the heat to replicate the success of the last season, she indeed had a unique reply. A self-declared “huge fan” of the dating reality show, Madix replied to the question with,

Completely throw out the playbook from last time.

However, it was not her cockiness speaking. Madix has a good enough reason not to chase the success of the past season. The Something About Her sandwich shop co-owner shared that instead of playing it safe, she would rather venture out to face new challenges.

Thus, she claimed that instead of simply replicating, she would rewrite it anew this season. Madix explained,

I think that if we go into it trying to replicate or trying to re-create, you get stuck in a comparison mindset, and then that never gives you that freedom to be yourself, or to kind of create new moments.

Under her able leadership, not only did the winning couple, Serena Page and Kordell Beckham, become a cultural phenomenon, but Page’s best friends, JaNa Craig and Leah Kateb, also joined them in the trend. Madix shared a post on her Instagram Stories after the streaming service Peacock crashed for at least half an hour during the show’s premiere.

Love Island USA was supposed to premiere at 9 PM ET/6 PM PT. However, the unprecedented glitch prevented the users unable to watching for the first 30 minutes. For some users. It even stretched to a 45-minute gaffe. Nevertheless, Madix did not miss the opportunity to point it out on her Instagram Stories.

Sharing a picture of herself dressed in bright yellow, Madix wrote,

Not you guys crashing the app! Haha love it! Gotta get the IT cuties on the job

Hosted by Madix, 12 contestants will be competing for love in the seventh season of Love Island USA. Among the Islanders are Ace Greene, Austin Shepard, Isabelle-Anne “Belle-A” Walker, Charlie Georgiou, Chelley Bissainthe, Cierra Ortega, Huda Mustafa, Jeremiah Brown, Nicolas “Nic” Vansteenberghe, Olandria Carthen, Taylor Williams and Yulissa Escobar.

The contestants are currently camping in Fiji, where the season is being filmed. The episodes are filmed in real time and will be airing six nights a week. It now remains to be seen who will finally take home the winners’ garb.
