WHEEL of Fortune has introduced some new changes to the upcoming season, some of which will make Vanna White’s job easier.

Good Morning America host Ginger Zee talked to Vanna and new co-host Ryan Seacrest about their “sleek new set” on Tuesday.

“I don’t even have to touch the letter anymore,” Vanna, 67, admitted as she gestured toward the all-new digital letter board.

“This is a blank screen with a video on it, right?”

“There are lasers up there,” she said, pointing to the top of the screen.

“So, when I go to touch the letter, it catches the movement of my hand, so it lights up.”

“Isn’t that crazy?” Vanna asked Ginger, 43, who nodded her head.

The GMA meteorologist wondered what was behind the wall.

Vanna told her that she would go back there to see her puzzles, which the show puts on a graph.

Another new change to this season is that Ryan is taking over for Pat Sajak after the legendary host retired following more than 40 seasons on air.

The new season of Wheel of Fortune will kick off on Monday, September 9, on ABC.

‘FULL OF SMILES’

The co-hosts sat down with Ginger to talk about the new season.

She said that Ryan, 49, is “already full of smiles.”

“It’s Wheel of Fortune, how can you not be happy?” he asked.

Vanna said that the game show is “energetic, positive, and fun.”

“I’m so excited,” she said.

Ryan shared that becoming the new host is an “out of body” experience for him.

“It is a very special thing that just doesn’t exist anywhere else,” he said of the show.

To prepare for the new role, the American Idol host said that he has been watching old episodes of WoF with Vanna and Pat, 77, and has also played mock games across the country with mock contestants.

“Hopefully, it all pays off,” Ryan said.

He also said that he isn’t going to make any changes and if they keep having fun, the show will work.

NEW ERA

Last week, Ryan gave fans another glimpse at the new set.

The set features bright colors, palm trees, and the huge iconic wheel.

The new set also has a blue tint to it compared to the old one.

Fans were divided over it with some saying it looked “cheap and tacky.”

NOT PLAYING GAMES!

Despite his declaration that he won’t make any changes, Ryan will be making at least some small tweaks for Season 42.

According to The New York Times, the host will not use cue cards, as Pat did.

He is also memorizing every contestant’s introduction.

“He has already brought a new energy to the set,” NYT wrote.

“He can break into a salsa dance. He moves easily around the stage.

“And he does not require index cards – one of Mr. Sajak’s hallmarks – when he introduces each new contestant.”
