Novak Djokovic: “I’m ready for the 2025 Australian Open”

In a press conference before the Brisbane International, Novak Djokovic expressed confidence ahead of the 2025 season with the immediate goal of conquering the Australian Open.

At a press conference ahead of the ATP 250 Brisbane International on December 30, Djokovic shared: “I’m taking a few months off from official competition to recover and regain my form. Brisbane is a great tournament, attracting many top players. I hope to play many matches and confidently look forward to the Australian Open.”

Djokovic will play the opening match of the ATP 250 Brisbane International against Rinky Hijikata at 2:30 p.m. today (December 31). This is a tournament with many stars participating such as Nick Kyrgios, Holger Rune and Frances Tiafoe.

Brisbane International 2025 is considered a tournament for Djokovic to regain his competitive spirit, as he decided not to participate in the Paris Masters and ATP Finals 2024. The Serbian star’s goal is to win the Australian Open 2025 taking place in Melbourne (Australia) from January 12 to January 26.

Regarding the doping incident involving Jannik Sinner, Djokovic stated his opinion: “I have known Sinner since he was a child. He is not a person who intentionally violated the law. The problem here is that the system is not handling it consistently.

I believe in clean sport . But I am disappointed to see the lack of transparency and fairness in the handling of the Sinner case. We were completely unaware of it for the past six months.”
