1923's Jeremy Gauna Reveals How Cole Brings Plenty's Death Impacted Season 2's Most Shocking Deaths

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Jeremy Gauna discussed how the onscreen death was painful due to its real-life implications.“I’m emotional even talking about it now,” said Gauna, “but reading the script was very, very, very hard because of everything that happened in real life.”

He also shared his experiences from the day they filmed his character’s death, highlighting the emotional response of his co-star Aminah Nieves, who plays Teonna Rainwater. He remarked,

“On set that day, when they [Father Renaud and Marshall Kent] roll up on me, all the emotions — the tears, the sounds, the gasping, the breathing — everything you hear is a hundred percent real. Because at that moment, I can attest that Aminah felt this way, she saw Cole laying there.”

Later, in his interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Jeremy Gauna shared that he hoped to honor the character and Cole’s legacy. “Hopefully, I did everybody justice and made everybody proud because that’s all I wanted to do was just honor and represent.”
