Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift could be forced to wait to spend Christmas together due to a request from the Kansas City Chiefs, according to reports.

The duo are currently lying low, having opted to keep away from the spotlight ever since February’s Super Bowl.

The Chiefs had gone into the contest hoping to win the big event for the third year on the trot.

That didn’t happen, however, with the Eagles producing a sublime display to etch their name into the history books once again.

Since Kelce and Swift started dating in 2023, the couple have had to wait to spend Christmas Day together.

That’s due to the Chiefs playing on that day, with the NFL side going up against the Pittsburgh Steelers and Las Vegas Raiders over the past two years.

Now, according to a recent report from The Athletic, the Chiefs have requested that they play on Christmas Day once again.

It’s said the American football franchise ‘want to be a staple on that holiday’ – just like the Detroit Lions and the Dallas Cowboys on Thanksgiving Day.

When it comes to Christmas 2025, the NFL are set to host three games on Christmas Day.

The first two will be streamed by Netflix, while Amazon Prime are set to broadcast the third and final fixture.

Kelce and Swift may, therefore, be forced to make alternative plans – especially after the tight end provided clarity over his future.

Many had expected the 35-year-old to walk away from the sport following the Chiefs’ devastating Super Bowl defeat two months ago.

However, he has since confirmed that he will play on for one more year at least as he looks to guide his side to glory once again.

Speaking earlier this month, Kelce shed light on his decision by saying: “I think the biggest thing is that I f***ing love playing the game of football.

“I still feel I can play at a high level and possibly at a higher level than I did last year.

“I don’t think it was my best outing. I think I let my guys down in a lot more moments than I helped them, especially if you look at my track record and how I’ve been in years past.

“I want to give it a good run. I’ve got a bad taste in my mouth on how I ended the year and how well I was playing and how accountable I was for the people around me.

“I love so many people in Kansas City, both in that facility and the community and it’s home for me now.

“I don’t want to leave that life yet. I put in a lot of hard work and focus into being the best I can be for Kansas City and last year it didn’t end well for us.

“I feel there’s a responsibility in me to play out the contract I initially signed to give the organisation everything that I’ve got and that’s what I’m going to do man.”
