George Gray has been telling Price Is Right’s contestants to ‘Come on down’ for 15 years.

The Price is Right fans have been hearing the CBS show’s famous catchphrase, “Come on down!” for years, but they might not know much about the person who says it every day.

The longest-running game show in America can be attributed to announcer George Gray, who has been a part of the show almost as long as host Drew Carey, who signed on in 2010.

Over the years, Gray has announced every prize up for grabs and item a part of every game with his iconic voice.

However, there’s more to the game show’s announcer than people realize.

Here’s everything to know about The Price Is Right’s announcer, George Gray.

Gray was born in St. Louis, and later relocated to Tucson, Arizona, for high school and college.

After graduating from the University of Arizona, he worked as a sketch and stand-up comedian while also dabbling in acting before turning to hosting.

In his early career, Gray hosted several other game shows, with his first hosting gig being on the Fox Movie Channel’s series FXM Friday Nights.

Gray then went on to cohost Movies For Guys Who Like Movies on TBS.

In 2001, Gray hosted the first season of Junkyard Wars, where he earned his first Emmy nomination.

Gray also hosted Extreme Gong, The Weakest Link, National Lampoon’s Greek Games, $25 Million Dollar Hoax, I’d Do Anything and What’s With That House.

In 2010, after Rich Fields revealed that he was not returning as The Price Is Right’s announcer, Gray and several others were selected to be rotating announcers.

The following year, Gray officially got the gig.

“I never thought that I’d be [announcing The Price Is Right]. I mean it’s crazy,” Gray reflected in a December 2020 interview for Hosts at Home. “When I was up for the job, I just thought, ‘Well the thing to do is do what I do.’”

In recent years, Gray has struggled with health issues concerning his heart.

In April 2020, he was rushed to the hospital for chest pains and suffered a heart attack. While he had a stent put in, it failed and Gray had a second heart attack.

He received an additional stent, but while in the hospital, Gray suffered a third heart attack.

Instead of having a third stent put in, Gray underwent a quadruple bypass and returned to work five months later.

Gray recently made headlines in January 2025 after he filed for divorce from wife Brittney Green after five years of marriage.

According to court documents obtained by Us Weekly, Gray listed the pair’s date of separation as August 1, 2024 and cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for their split.

The announcer later told TMZ that his and Green’s separation was amicable and that the pair were in counseling to work on their marriage.

Outside of his marriage and career, Gray is a vintage enthusiast and collects old school pinball machines and video games. He also has several classic cars including a 1972 Corvette.

Gray has had many memorable moments on The Price Is Right and recently made audience members and viewers at home hysterically laugh during an episode that saw host Drew Carey have a “senior moment.”

When Carey took a contestant to a game, he couldn’t remember its name and stumbled on his words before the contestant had to say it for him.

This made Gray cackle and fans couldn’t help but take to the comments section of the moment’s YouTube video to laugh about it.

One person wrote: “George’s evil laugh was funny,” as a second added: “George’s laugh was funny!”

A third said: “I like George Gray’s laugh he cracks me up laughing.”
