The Price Is Right Fans Love Host Drew Carey
When it comes to popular game shows that have stood the test of time and been around for decades, not only do viewers get attached to the games themselves, but, they also get attached to the hosts. Seeing the same host on your favorite game show for years is something that keeps a level of continuity, and viewers love that.
It’s not a stretch to say that Drew Carey had some huge shoes to fill when he took over hosting duties at The Price Is Right from Bob Barker. Barker hosted the beloved game show for over 30 years. While Drew has not hosted the game show as long as Barker did, he has had a respectable run so far, taking over the job all the way back in 2007. So, he already has nearly 20 years under his belt.

Recently, The Price Is Right fans brought attention to overzealous contestants who are a little too eager to meet Drew Carey and be up there on the game show stage. Fans recently called out how this excitement could put the host in danger, especially when new players run at the host or give him a bear hug.

The Price Is Right Fans Weigh In
One of the things that The Price Is Right fans worry about when it comes to this is the fact that Drew Carey is getting up there in age. So, an overzealous tackle or hug that is too rough could potentially hurt the host. Recently, commenters had a lot to say about it.

One recent commenter said: “Before the show tapes, do they announce to the audience, if you make it on stage, do NOT hug, maul, pick up, get rough with Drew? Some of these contestants are too rough. They could accidentally hurt Drew.”
Another person said: “Yeah, Drew isn’t exactly a spring chicken any more. I realize contestants are pumped up, but please don’t damage the host… or the models either.”
A third person chimed in, adding: “Evidently they don’t because some of the women are all over him. One almost pushed him over and the woman today was crawling all over him.”
