American-British producer and DJ Mark Ronson recalled his past encounter with Michael Jackson as a teenager during an interview. Ronson spoke in an exclusive interview with The Sun UK and admitted that he had to go back and reanalyze his relationship with the late ‘King of Pop’ after the pedophile allegations came out.

Ronson also gave his readers a little glimpse into this part of his life in his upcoming book, Night People: How to Be a DJ in ‘90s New York City. While the 50-year-old DJ cleared out the fact that nothing unruly ever happened, it was a “strange moment” for him.

Mark Ronson met Michael Jackson through a mutual friend, Sean Lennon, John Lennon and Yoko Ono’s son. Later on, Ronson attended a party in Jackson’s hotel room.

Mark Ronson opens up about meeting Michael Jackson

In the exclusive interview with The Sun UK, Ronson began:

“I think Michael hung out at Sean’s house and then the next night we went to see the Bad Tour. And then Michael had a big after-party in his hotel room… He was just obsessed with throwing these soggies out the window – like taking big mounds of toilet paper and making them damp and then throwing them at parked cars. It’s so crazy to say it out loud.”

He also explained how excited he was to be around a star like Michael. Ronson said:

“Even at that time I already loved being in the studio. That was my obsession. I wanted to get a cool hook from Michael Jackson to take back. Like, ‘You guys go play and run around like kids, I am going to use this Michael Jackson meeting to like get something, get a song out of it’.”

But unfortunately, Mark Ronson never got a hook or a song from Jackson.

Later on, he added, after the allegations against Michael Jackson came up, he revisited that memory often. In his words:

“Obviously, with allegations that came later, of course, it made me re-examine that event too many times… I wouldn’t say it’s a highlight of my childhood, but it was certainly one of the most memorable experiences.”

He concluded by clarifying:

“And of course I put it back through that lens a hundred times. I was like, for whatever reason, there was nothing weird or untoward on that night.”

As for his friendship with Sean Lennon, he revealed:

“It was wild being friends with Sean because he was so charismatic and also, you know, he carried this presence of his dad, and his dad was so beloved… His dad obviously died when Sean was only five. I remember Steve Jobs once came over because he’d made a new Apple computer and he wanted to show it to Sean.”

While he admits his memory of Jackson was crazy because of the soggies he threw, Ronson maintains that nothing inappropriate ever occurred.
