Wheel Of Fortune: Ryan Seacrest Survived His First Season As The New Host
Arguably no one in the game show space, and perhaps even entertainment in general, has been under more scrutiny than Ryan Seacrest since he was announced as the new Wheel Of Fortune host. Pat Sajak hosted the program for decades and was the face of the franchise for all that time.
Ryan Seacrest had a huge target on his back even before he set foot on the game show stage. While there are still some Wheel Of Fortune watchers who want him gone, he managed to successfully get through his first season as the host. When you consider all the pressure he was under, as well as all the hate he received, this is a monumental achievement for Seacrest.

Game Show Host Makes Shocking Confession
In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Ryan Seacrest talked about his experience on the show, and he let slip a surprising confession that game show fans may not be aware of.
According to Seacrest, he said, “I have a lot of fun with the job, but I take the responsibility very seriously. We all have memories of watching Wheel with our families. I mowed lawns growing up in Atlanta just to save money to buy a Zenith TV for the kitchen so we could watch Wheel during dinner!”
Seacrest continued, adding, “There were conversations — actually, years ago — about me doing this show, and I expressed interest even back then. When you look at what Pat and Vanna have built over the years … they are your friends. What they’ve established is special. So that’s why I said yes.”

Seacrest said, “It required a lot more prep than you’d think. I made flashcards for myself and, when I could, logged in remotely to watch tape-days. About six months out, my producer built a little travel-friendly wheel for me so I could play in hotel conference rooms with random people.”
