Vanna White has said the transition from Pat Sajak to Ryan Seacrest was ‘flawless’ as she revealed she has a great relationship with her new co-host

Vanna White revealed the one thing she always asks Ryan Seacrest before filming Wheel of Fortune together.

The TV personality, 68, has worked as a co-host since 1982 and shared the screen with Pat Sajak, 78, for over 40 years, until his retirement last year.

Ryan, 50, took over when Pat retired — and fans went wild during his first show as a co-host.

Vanna said she has known Ryan for over 20 years but had never worked with him until the last year.

She said the transition from Pat to Ryan was “flawless” as he praised the new host for having “great energy” and always wanting “to do a great job.”

Vanna said, “I mean, when he first started, he goes, ‘Look, I can never replace Pat Sajak. I’m just going to go in and do the best job I can.’ And that’s what he’s done.”

She revealed she also has a great relationship with Ryan behind the scenes – and always asks him whether she has any lipstick on her teeth before filming.

The TV host told People, “Before we go out, I turn to him and say, ‘Do I have lipstick on my teeth?’” Vanna said that “of course” Ryan is always honest with her when he checks her teeth.

Ryan previously revealed that Vanna gave him a thoughtful gift to help him keep his teeth white.

He said, “She’s so super generous and sweet and kind. She even brought me — because I was saying, I drink very strong black coffee and my teeth, sometimes you can see it – she brought me white strips.

“She brought me white strips. She went to the store the next day. She brought me white strips.”

He went on to describe Vanna as “an institution, an icon” and added, “She’s amazing. She’s everything you think Vanna White will be when you meet her!”

Earlier this month, Wheel of Fortune fans claimed a contestant was “robbed” due to Ryan’s mistake.

Contestant Pia ran out of time in the Speed Up section as Ryan took a long time to explain the question to her. However, Pia, who said she knew the answer, ended up losing out on $10,000 due to the error.

On Sept. 16, after watching the most recent episode, viewers took to Reddit to share their frustration at Pia’s situation.

“Watching tonight, 9/16, Pia got buzzed out too soon on the final puzzle. Seriously don’t believe they gave her the three seconds. She got “cheered out of $10k+,” one person said. “I believe the four seconds is from letter time, she got buzzed 3 seconds from her spin.”
