UNBELIEVABLE MOMENT: Mark Consuelos Leaves ‘LIVE’ Producer In Tears During Emotional On-Air Exchange, As Viewers Witness The Unexpected Scene Unfold

The set of Live with Kelly & Mark is known for hosting quite a few emotional moments. Recently, one special guest ended up in tears during their time on the show. In fact, they weren’t the only ones to cry during the segment.

Mark Consuelos joined his real-life spouse, Kelly Ripa, on their namesake talk show back in 2023. Previously, Ripa joined the series in 2001.
Since then, viewers have often seen quite a few emotional moments on Live with Kelly & Mark, especially as the two co-hosts are a real-life couple who share a family. However, fans recently saw multiple people in tears on the show.

During a recent episode of the talk show, as noted by Entertainment Weekly, Mark spoke with producer Michael Gelman. During the morning chat, they were discussing why marathons often make people cry. In fact, it was noted that both runners and spectators often find themselves crying.
Looking at the idea scientifically, Consuelos shared a study that suggested “a huge release of serotonin, oxytocin, dopamine,” and other chemicals numb stress during such an event. These chemicals are then released once the runners finish.
Consuelos joked, “I don’t know, I’d be crying after the beginning, the first quarter, the half.” For his part, Gelman admitted, “I get very emotional at the end,” after telling the cohosts that he often sits at the finish line to spectate during marathons in New York City.”
Consuelos Himself Ended Up In Tears Later During The Show
This caused Consuelos to joke “And I’m saying, you need to get your testosterone checked.” Gelman then shared, “It’s very moving, that these people have gone through that. Sometimes they’re disabled, sometimes they’re crawling, but even sometimes they just went through so much and they’re stumbling across the finish line, it’s such an achievement.”
Ripa then noted that she herself gets “very emotional when people achieve great things.” The camera then cut to Gelman, who was visibly in tears.

Consuelos told the camera crew, “He’s crying right now. You’re welling up right now, get a close-up on Gelman’s misty eyes.” He added, “You could be an actor, maybe. A soap opera actor. Summon up the tears!,” likely a sly nod to his own soap opera career. Famously, he and Ripa both appeared on All My Children together.
The producer then teased he must be an “actor or psychopath.” This brought on laughs from the studio audience.
However, Consuelos soon found himself in tears for another reason. He became emotional during a news story involving a family that recently lost their dog and unknowingly later adopted their late pet’s father. As fans know, Mark is known for his love of dogs on the show, even recently making headlines after reuniting with a pet on set
