Mark Consuelos has revealed a rather unexpected battle scar — and it didn’t happen at the gym or on set, but in the comfort of his own bed.
The 54-year-old Live with Kelly and Mark cohost confessed he’s been quietly nursing a torn tendon for over a month, after a bizarre accident that left even his wife and cohost, Kelly Ripa, shaking her head in disbelief.

The incident came to light during Wednesday’s episode of Live, when Consuelos told the audience he’d finally gone to see a doctor after realizing his arm pain wasn’t going away.
“I went to the doctor’s office yesterday because I’ve had this pain since August,” he said. “I had this dream that I was in bed, and my arm was hanging off the side. In my dream, I went and I punched — like, really punched.”
To demonstrate, Consuelos threw a mock punch in mid-air, earning laughter from the studio crowd. But the aftermath, as it turns out, was no joke.
“It was at such a weird angle on the bed that I hyperextended my arm,” he explained. “I woke up and thought, ‘Ah, that hurt.’ And I’ve been nursing this injury ever since.”
A “Sleep Injury” That Lasted a Month
Addressing the show’s longtime producer Michael Gelman, Consuelos added with a grin:
“I’ve been nursing this injury, Gelman. Through September. It was a sleep injury! Remember the ‘Do It Week’ we had in September?”
That particular week on Live saw Consuelos and Ripa taking on a variety of physical challenges — but according to Kelly, her husband was already struggling.

“And you could barely do it,” she teased, laughing as the audience joined in.
Consuelos went on to describe his doctor’s amused reaction when he revealed the cause of the injury.
“I’ve seen him so many times for little sports injuries,” he recalled. “He said, ‘What happened this time?’ and when I told him, he started laughing. Then he imaged it and said I actually have a slight tear in my brachioradialis tendon — maybe even my bicep tendon.”
Kelly’s Reaction: “You’re Just Falling Apart”
Ripa couldn’t resist a playful jab at her husband, quipping, “You’re just falling apart.”
Consuelos, never one to miss a punchline, fired back:
“You know you’re getting old when you injure yourself dreaming. That’s so pathetic.”
Despite the humor, Ripa made sure to give her husband credit where it was due.
“All this time, you’ve been working, injured, in front of America and Canada,” she said admiringly.
Consuelos smiled and turned proudly toward the studio audience.
“I’m pretty much a hero,” he declared, to loud applause.
