Despite retiring from competitive tennis almost three years ago, 43-year-old Serena Williams continues to stay active in her everyday life.

Williams turned professional in 1995 at age 14 and went on to win 23 Grand Slam singles titles, more than any other woman in the Open Era, and a total of 73 WTA singles titles. Serena also won 14 Grand Slam doubles titles and four Olympic gold medals.

On Wednesday, the former tennis star showed she may not be elite at everything she does. Williams posted a video on Instagram of her shooting hoops on a mini hoop with the following message:

“Mini hoops, major flop Thank goodness I picked up a racket instead of a basketball… Pops really understood the assignment.”

Known for her powerful serve, aggressive baseline play and unmatched mental toughness, Williams dominated women’s tennis across two decades. She first reached world No. 1 in singles in 2002 and held the top spot for 319 weeks during her career, including 186 consecutive weeks.

Off the court, Serena has built a successful business empire. She founded Serena Ventures, a venture capital firm supporting diverse entrepreneurs, and has invested in over 60 startups. She’s also a fashion designer, philanthropist and part-owner of both the Miami Dolphins and Angel City FC.

Williams retired from professional tennis in 2022 after the US Open. She is married to Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian and has two daughters. Her legacy extends beyond sports into culture, activism and business.

Despite all that success, it appears a trip to the WNBA is not in the future for Williams.
