Williams and Ohanian met by chance in Rome in 2015, when the former was playing the Italian Open and the latter was attending a tech conference. Their connection grew quickly, and by December 2016, Alexis proposed at the same hotel where they first met. Williams announced the engagement on Reddit in a heartfelt post.

In April 2017, Williams revealed she was pregnant, and later that year, on Sept. 1, the couple welcomed their first daughter, Olympia. Two months later, they tied the knot in a lavish New Orleans wedding attended by many celebrities including Beyoncé.

Their family life blossomed in the years that followed, with the couple often sharing glimpses of Olympia’s childhood and their parenting journey. On August 22, 2023, they welcomed their second daughter, Adira River.

Ohanian praised his wife, Williams, for cherishing family life and being a devoted mother to Olympia and Adira. In an interview with the Today Show, the 42-year-old said Williams values life’s simple joys despite her legendary status, calling her not just a tennis icon but an extraordinary mom.

“Amazing as she is as an athlete, you know grace of all time. She’s an even greater mom to our daughters Olivia and Adira I love you girls Yes on top of amazing businesswoman and and sports icon and that’s something that I think few people understand like she’s reached the top of the mountaintop the highest of heights,” Ohanian said.

“Things that most of us would I think on any other day trade so much for and yet after being up there the thing that gives her so much joy is the simple things that that you know family that I think every one of us has an option an opportunity, so don’t squander that,” he added.

Since becoming a mother in 2017, Williams has balanced her career with raising her children. Olympia is often seen on tour before her retirement in 2022. Now focusing on events, media work, and brand campaigns, she still prioritizes quality time with her family.
