Serena Williams, in a recent interaction with comedian and actor Kevin Hart, disclosed she doesn’t love pickleball and the reason behind her lack of love for the rapidly-growing racket sport. At one point during the interaction, a facial expression made by the former World No. 1 and 23-time singles Major champion led to Hart dropping the f-bomb.
Williams recently featured as one of the guests on the first episode of season one of Amazon Prime Video’s Good Sports co-hosted by Hart and Kenan Thompson.
“I know this is highly controversial but I have to ask anyway; are you pro-pickleball?”
Upon hearing the question, Serena Williams made a rather uncomfortable expression, making it quite clear that her relationship with pickleball has something problematic to it. Here, Kevin Hart, taken aback by Williams’ expression, dropped the f-bomb, saying:
“Woah! What the f**k was that? What was that?”
Subsequently, the 73-time career singles titlist revealed she loves tennis and padel, but tends to steer clear of playing pickleball because she once got hurt playing it. She also bemoaned the heaviness of pickleball rackets despite their much smaller sizes compared to tennis rackets.
“I’m a tennis player, so I love padel, I love tennis, but only because I hurt myself playing pickle, and I’m used to playing with tennis rackets and that pickleball racket is actually way heavier than a tennis racket. Can you imagine? And it’s way smaller. And ever since I kind of hurt myself I’ve been like… eehhh… I love padel. It’s so fun,” Williams said.
Interestingly, in 2022, Williams had something different to say when asked about pickleball.

In 2022, months before her retirement from tennis, Serena Williams featured as a special guest on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. Here, DeGeneres asked Williams if the latter plays pickleball, to which the tennis legend answered:
“I love pickleball. Isn’t it fun?”
She subsequently expressed optimism over the racket sport’s growing popularity and also playfully suggested that she could pursue a “second career” in pickleball.
“And I love that it’s everywhere now. It could be a second career of mine,” Williams added.
Serena Williams played the last competitive match of her illustrious tennis-playing career at the 2022 US Open, which ended in an unexpected third-round loss to Ajla Tomljanovic for the American.

(VIDEO)On that unforgettable evening at Carnegie Hall, April 22, 2018 transformed into more than just a date on the calendar — it became a living monument to Dmitri Hvorostovsky, as the world’s most celebrated opera voices gathered not simply to sing, but to grieve, to honor, and to relive the magic of a man whose artistry could silence a room with a single note, and as Nino Surguladze, Veronica Dzhioeva, and Raúl Melo — his beloved friends and collaborators — took the stage, their voices quivering between raw sorrow and soaring reverence, it felt as though Dmitri himself was present, listening from somewhere beyond, smiling at every aria, every Russian romance, every Gypsy song that once defined his soul, and as the final chord echoed through the hall, many in the audience whispered that this was not just a concert, but a communion with the spirit of a legend, a promise that the velvet voice of Hvorostovsky would never truly be silenced.
