Serena Williams’ husband and Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian reacted positively to the best advice ever received by Tom Brady.

As he prepares for his second season in the FOX Sports booth, Brady – who is moving on with his life following his divorce from Gisele Bundchen – remains linked to the NFL after buying in as a minority owner of the Las Vegas Raiders. The seven-time Super Bowl champion remains a key inspiration and fountain of knowledge given his incredible NFL career.

Using sporting experience to inspire is something Ohanian can relate to. During his wife’s stellar career, Williams clinched 23 Grand Slam titles, cementing her status as one of the greatest tennis players in history. She’s now relishing retirement, spending quality time with her family while also keeping fit and unwinding.

Williams and Ohanian have been happily married for eight years. In September 2017, they welcomed their first child, daughter Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr. and then their second daughter, Adira River, joined the family in August 2023.

Williams is a part-owner of the Miami Dolphins, while Ohanian is a supporter of the Washington Commanders. Despite Brady whipping the Dolphins in the AFC East throughout his career while posting a 4-2 record versus Washington, Ohanian identifies with the quarterback and admires the mindset of the most accomplished quarterback in league history.

On Monday, Brady’s interview with ‘The School of Hard Knocks’ was released. When asked about the best piece of advice he ever received, Brady shared the story behind it, outlining how he was venting to a Michigan social psychologist about his practice regimen when he received what he considers the most valuable advice of his life.

“He sat me down in his office one Tuesday afternoon and he said, ‘Why don’t you quit bitching about all the things you’re not getting and worry about the things you are getting and don’t worry about anybody else,’” Brady said.

“So many times, we focus on what everyone else gets and we lose track of what we’re getting and the opportunities we’re getting. If they give you three opportunities in practice to go out there and do your best, go do it.”

He continued: “Accountability is a word I think we need to ingrain in all of us all the time. I always tell everybody, you have to get out of your comfort zone.”

Within moments of the footage being posted online, the segment exploded across social media as thousands of reactions, reposts and responses poured in. Among the feedback was a message from Ohanian, who simply posted: “Let em know!!!”

Brady emphasized that the psychologist delivered a crucial lesson that excellence never comes without struggle. The 48-year-old sat out in 1995 before spending two seasons backing up Brian Griese for the Wolverines, including the 1997 campaign when the team captured the national title.

Brady ultimately outcompeted Drew Henson in 1998 and took the starting role for his final two seasons with the squad. He achieved team leadership honors as a senior and received All-Big Ten honorable mention recognition in both campaigns before entering the NFL as a sixth-round selection by the New England Patriots.
