Serena Williams’ husband, Alexis Ohanian, has announced he will join the hit TV show Shark Tank as a guest investor for Season 17. This news comes hot on the heels ofĀ the tennis legend showing off her dramatic body transformation.
Williams, 43, hasĀ shifted her focus to business and family lifeĀ after winning 23 singles Grand Slams and 73 WTA singles trophies. She shares two children with successful businessman Ohanian, whom she started dating in 2015.Ā Williams retired from tennis three years ago, but she’s determined not to let her physique slacken, with the American showing off a chiselled look during a gym workout.
Ohanian, the co-founder ofĀ RedditĀ and the venture capital firm Seven Seven Six, has paid particular attention to women’s sports, considering his wife’s legendary status. He recently purchased an 8-10% stake in Chelsea FC Women, and according toĀ Williams, her husband has “started a whole movement in women’s sports by getting billions invested.”
Williams also branded her hubby as the “GOAT of investing” in a video posted online. Now, his business skills will be present on his TV show Shark Tank, with Ohanian being a guest investor in Season 17 following the exit of Dallas Mavericks co-owner Mark Cuban.
“Looks like the secret is out. Can’t wait for yall to watch,” Ohanian confirmed on social media platform X. Williams can seek advice from her husband, and she has revealed that discipline is āthe No.1 thingā she has carried from her tennis career into business.

āTennis is [played] every day, you have to do it every day. You have to train, and business is the same. It is exactly the same. You have to be very disciplined,ā she told CNBC last month.
āI think a lot of things are nature but a lot of things can be nurtured,ā she added. āYou also have to be determined through ups and downs, be determined to keep going.
“And thatās one thing that Iām excited to do, to talk to these mentors about that determination that Iāve shown so much in my past career and just bring it out to this new career.ā
While Serena is showing no signs of coming out of retirement, her older sister, Venus, a seven-time Grand Slam winner, is showing no signs of slowing down. Venus Williams has accepted a wildcard for the Washington Open, which would be her first competitive match in 16 months.
The 45-year-old’s last competitive game was at the Miami Open in March 2024, and her last win came at the Cincinnati Open in August 2023. “There’s something truly special about DC ā the energy, the fans, the history,” said Williams. “This city has always shown me so much love and I can’t wait to compete there again.”
