A recent Price Is Right episode saw multiple players win difficult games on their first try, stunning host Drew Carey and viewers

The Price Is Right’s host, Drew Carey, told viewers to put a “gold star” on their calendar after a player’s rare win.

During the June 30 episode of the hit CBS game show, player Alexa experienced a rare occurrence while she played a game of Stack the Deck to win a sedan.

The contestant is shown six grocery items, paired in twos, and asked to guess which of them costs the given price. If they succeed in all three pairs, the player gets three digits of the car places in its overall price.

Alexa won two digits, choosing to reveal the third and fourth numbers and guessed the rest, choosing a $23,085, and won.

Carey was stunned that the player got the right price and told viewers at home, “What a great day on The Price Is Right. Somebody won Stack the Deck. Put a gold star on your calendar.”

The episode was full of increible wins on hard games, though. Earlier in the episode, player Jody played a game of Cliffhangers.

She guessed that a crepe maker was $25 and was only off by $4, making the hiker climb four places. Carey joked to her, “I think you’ve got this locked in.”

The contestant was then right while guessing the prices of a weather station and a shower head, allowing her to win the game effortlessly. Carey joked, “Well, that was a quick one.”

Then, a player after Jody also saw another easy win on a difficult game. Player Danielle won a trip to Finland during a game of Squeeze Play.

Then, Elrasheed won a game of the Race Game, placing the correct prices of a skiball machine, washer and dryer, boxing trainer, and computer.

Both Jody and Alexa got into the Showcase round with their spins on the Showcase wheel and the surprises didn’t stop there.

Alexa passes on a new kitchen, motorcycle, and a trip to Fiji, which Jody bids $25k on.

Her opponent’s Showcase included a trip to Chicago, a home theater, and an SUV, which she bid $35k on.

Jody won, having only bid $542 under her actual retail price, narrowly missing out on Double Showcase.

A player can win a hard game sometimes, but it’s even rarer if a contestant wins a game on the first try, if multiple tries are given. Carey just experienced this during the June 23 episode.

He was left gobsmacked after a player made history by being the first person to win Cover Up on their first try in 20 years, something he’d never seen since becoming host.

He told player Alyssa, “If you get the price correct on the first try, congratulations, you’ll be the first winner in Price is Right history, probably,” before confirming, “Long time ago, back when – probably when Bob was host, not when I was host.”

However, Alyssa formed the price of a car correctly on her first chance, prompting Carey to exclaim, “I can’t believe it.”

Carey further cemented Alyssa’s win, telling her before she spun the wheel, “The last time somebody did what you just did was June of 2007, I found out during the break, been a while. Not since I’ve been the host.” Alyssa went on to spin $1, earning her $1k.
