The Price Is Right: Fans Love Drew Carey As The Game Show Host
When you take over from someone with the legendary status of Bob Barker, there are bound to be some growing pains. This is exactly what Drew Carey faced when the torch was passed to him to carry on at the helm of the popular game show once he finally took over.
As Ryan Seacrest soon found out on Wheel Of Fortune after taking over from Pat Sajak, viewers of popular game shows are very protective when it comes to things like tradition, and this includes who is at the helm hosting these shows. However, with Drew Carey hosting the show since 2007, he has been embraced by the community.

Drew Carey Talks Jail And Nearly Losing Coveted Gig
As much as Drew Carey has settled into his role as the host of The Price Is Right, there was one moment on the popular game show where he thought he was surely “going to jail.” According to Drew, there was a scandal involving the Plinko game in only his second season as the game show host.
Before the taping of the episode began, show runners had rigged the Plinko game to hit the $10,000 mark no matter where someone dropped the chip. They did this while filming a commercial to promote a video game version of the show.
The catch is, they forgot to remove the fishing wire before going on the air, resulting in all three of a player’s chips hitting the $10k slot. As the player was dropping her fourth chip, the floor director walked over to Drew Carey and whispered, “The game is fixed.”
