A Price is Right contestant missed out on the chance to win $500,000 on a recent episode — and some fans are blaming host Drew Carey for the way things played out.

While recent episodes have seen a bride-to-be win big for her groom, other contestants win big despite “absurd” bids, and some getting $10k despite obscene gestures, a recent airing featuring a contestant going for a massive cash prize has earned fan rebuke.

The episode saw a contestant named Lauren play a round of the popular game, Plinko.

The game sees contestants drop chips down a peg board with the goal of landing in the spot showing a $100,000 prize.

Chips are earned by correctly guessing the price of smaller prizes, and if five are won, the contestant stands to win up to $500,000 total, if they drop the chips and land in the $100,000 spot every time.

Contestants choose how and where to drop the chips on the board, but host Drew Carey often chimes in as well–and some fans think that the recent attempt by Lauren was upended by him.

Lauren got in position to start dropping the chips, with Carey notably pointing out several times that the $100,000 spot was “right down the middle.”

She wound up then dropping all of her chips directly down the middle–which failed to net her anywhere near $500,000, with her maxing out at a total win of $4,000.

After sharing the clip to Instagram, some fans quickly called out Carey and blamed him for indicating Lauren should drop the chips down the center of the board.

“Drew Carey really needs to stop saying RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE when Plinko is playing because he’s annoying AF. WARNING: If someone replies a mean comment about what I’ve said, I’m going to BLOCKED that person,” one person wrote.

“Hey Drew you don’t have to tell your contestants that the big money is ‘right down the middle’ every single time ffs,” another said.

However, others pointed out that the game seemed impossible to win anytime it was played, saying it was “rigged.”

“Absolutely surreal video. And that game is definitely rigged!” one person said.
