Alexis Ohanian, husband of tennis legend Serena Williams and co-founder of Reddit, just let fans in on a mission he’s been locked in on since becoming a dad. With two kids at home== Olympia Ohanian as the oldest and baby Adira River Ohanian now joining the family– he says the grind is personal.

How Did Alexis Ohanian’s Fatherhood Change His Health Goals?
Forget giving up; Ohanian is pushing harder than ever. He and Williams met in Rome in 2015, got engaged in 2016, and celebrated Olympia’s arrival on September 1, 2017, just ahead of their New Orleans wedding that November. By August 2023, Adira was born, and Ohanian found his focus shifting.
Recently, Ohanian hit social media with a gym mirror selfie, laying out how being a dad made him rethink what matters. He admitted he started caring way more about his daughters’ lives than his own well-being, and as a result, his health took a back seat for a while.

“Funny thing about having kids is I find myself measuring life in their birthdays more than my own. Jet lagged to hell but no excuses I gotta hit 300 1RM and then I’m knocking on 3 plates. I missed my June goal. Too ambitious. But it will happen,” Ohanian posted on X (formerly known as Twitter).
So now, Ohanian says he is making self-care part of the routine. Even on his toughest jet-lagged days, the tech entrepreneur makes sure to show up at the gym and chip away at the goals he set for himself. He calls the plan “ambitious,” but missing targets hasn’t slowed him down.
Why Is Serena Williams Promoting Weight-Loss Drugs Linked to Alexis Ohanian?
The Williams household isn’t just focused on the gym grind. Last month, Serena Williams opened up during an interview with TODAY, sharing that she’s been taking a class of medication called GLP-1, often used for type 2 diabetes and obesity, to help with weight management.

“I was on and off (the medication) and now completely on. It was a really good decision I had to make for my life, you know, I tried everything. A misconception is that it’s a shortcut. As an athlete and as someone that has done everything, I just couldn’t get my weight to where I needed to be at a healthy place,” Williams said.
Williams also connected her choice to use weight-loss medication with her role as a spokesperson for Ro, a healthcare company. Her husband, Ohanian, is both an investor in Ro and serves on its board. This means both are publicly linked to the brand.
“I definitely had struggles. But with Ro, I could easily just ask all the questions, and … I didn’t have to worry about it, and not have to feel like someone was looking at me sideways,” she added.
Still, not everyone was happy about it. Williams’ promotion of the weight-loss drug sparked pushback and criticism from some quarters.
