Paris Jackson – daughter of “King of Pop” Michael Jackson – is facing legal tension with the manager of her father’s estate. She accuses them of profiting from the 464 million USD fortune.

Legal battle to claim $464 million in assets

On November 18, Paris Jackson filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles, accusing the executors of Michael Jackson’s estate of abusing their power to enrich themselves. She said they received “double the amount” that should have been distributed to her three brothers in 2021 and delayed by four years the distribution of assets that she only received last September.

Paris expressed concern that more than $464 million of the estate’s cash was not being invested effectively. She said the interest rate of less than 0.1% was “unacceptable” and that if invested properly, the amount could have generated $41 million in profits.

In the filing, Paris alleges that the estate’s two executors — John Branca and John McClain — pocketed more than $10 million in 2021 alone, more than double the amount allocated to any beneficiary. The total amount they received by the end of 2021 was $148.2 million, which Paris said was “far beyond reasonable limits.”

The singer also criticized their spending on “risky” entertainment projects, including the upcoming Michael biopic. She said the executors have not yet released their financial statements for the period 2022-2025, leading her to suspect they are deliberately prolonging the administration of the estate.

However, according to US media, last September, Paris received $65 million in subsidies from the estate amid legal disputes.

The estate’s administrators have denied all allegations, calling Paris’s statements, including a $625,000 tip to three law firms, “false.” A hearing is scheduled for January 13, 2026.

However, a longtime associate of the Jackson family spoke up to defend the estate: “Michael died with more than half a billion dollars in debt. The estate not only paid off the debt but also rebuilt the estate. Paris coming back to attack them now is truly shocking.”

Another source added: “She is stubborn and is getting extremely bad advice. Everyone wants her in the light. Their biggest fear is that Paris will be dragged back into the darkness that almost killed her.”

Michael Jackson, the world’s greatest musician, died in 2009 while preparing for a world tour. When he died, he was over $500 million in debt. According to court records, the estate’s administrators have restored the estate and turned it into “a powerful force in the entertainment industry.”

The stormy life of Paris Jackson

Paris Jackson (born 1998) is the only daughter of Michael Jackson and Debbie Rowe. She has an older brother, Prince, and a younger brother, Bigi Jackson. Growing up in a high-profile and stressful environment, Paris had a turbulent childhood. In particular, after her father died when she was 11 years old, she fell into a state of mental breakdown and had to be hospitalized.

As an adult, Paris took more control of her life and pursued music, following in her father’s footsteps. She signed with Republic Records in 2020, releasing the single Let Down and the album Wilted that same year, to positive reviews. In addition to her songwriting skills, Paris plays electric guitar and regularly performs at music festivals.

Earlier this year, Paris made headlines when she announced that she had been sober for five years, saying: “Sobriety has allowed me to smile, make music and enjoy life.” The young singer also encouraged others to seek psychological support to help them overcome their drug addiction.

Family members worried about Paris’ mental state

Following the legal action against her father’s estate, Paris’s relatives expressed concern that she was acting emotionally, saying that initiating legal action could affect her mental stability, which she has struggled to maintain for the past five years.

“Paris has been through hell,” a source told Page Six. “When she gets emotional, that’s when the family is most scared.”

The family witnessed Paris fall into a serious psychological crisis after the sudden death of her father, leading to stimulant use and addiction treatment. Her brother Prince repeatedly asked the family to intervene. Her mother, Debbie Rowe, often had to come in at night to help her daughter overcome panic attacks.

“Growing up as the child of the most famous person on the planet led Paris to turn to drugs to cope with the pain. Now that she has a large inheritance, the instability could manifest itself in other ways,” the source said.

Last September, the young artist appeared on the streets of Los Angeles looking tired. She also announced the cancellation of her engagement to her future husband in July. The couple confirmed their engagement at the end of last year.
